Her scowl darkens.

Then a glow springs up around her, bright as the sun. A tangle of yellow strands appears between her hands.

At almost the same time an breeze springs up, knocking Jack's hat from his head.

"Mind me hat!"

He goes scrambling after it, then comes up with it in both hands and clutches it in front of his chest as he stares at her.

Jack blinks.

"Purple fire."

"Well," Nynaeve says, holding back a sniff.

"My skills are different."

Her Healing weaves look more like an array of colored lights. Or threads.

Jack opens his mouth, and then immediately shuts it again in a surprising display of self-preservation.

"Almost as bad as Lizzie, sounds like."

"Pardon?"

Nynaeve's chin, if possible goes up even farther.

"I didn't quite hear that."

He eyes her.

"Elizabeth Swann," Jack enunciates. "Ever had the pleasure?"

"I don't think so."

She would scowl more deeply if she could.

"Is she a particular friend of yours?"

Instinct says 'no'.
