Stop the presses; it's official. Rae didn't like being sick. Not one bit. Her throat hurt and she felt achy all over- not at all like her usual self

"Oh, Guppy Sandhu? What an exotic name..." she breathes, excitedly, eyes wide and feverbright. "Is he also in show business? I was in Four's a Crowd, you know."
"He said to make sure you get medical attention and don't infect anybody else," Urquhart says. "You're a friend. That means I take care of you if you're not well."
"Why did I...?" she says, vaguely, lightheaded and feeling sick to her stomach.
"Oh hells, what's going on? This whole day has been so weird. Earlier, Michael... no, I mean Ned. He... I don't even know what was going on at the time."
It's like a dream. A weird, messed-up, all too realistic dream. It probably doesn't help that she's burning up with fever and is only wearing a satin dressing gown
"He asked me to marry him..." Sunshine is so confused right now.
"Michael!" she says, biting her lip. "Oh that man is impossible!"
And magnificent.
"But what am I supposed to say to him?" she says, sinking back into the couch, lost and ashamed. There are tears threatening in the corners of her eyes, which will only make her nose and throat worse. "I only have my apartment because I work for Nick at the club."
And because she sleeps with him.
"And... with Phil I have a chance of being a star..."
Because she sleeps with him.
"But Ned - I mean Michael... he loves me... and wants to marry me..." Her voice breaks.
"He just..." she tries to keep from crying, but it doesn't work. "He's my best friend in the whole world. But he doesn't understand when I say I'm scared."
"He wants me to run away with him to New York! Leave everything behind! My singing gig at the club, my apartment, my chance at being a West End star... of being somebody. Of having something of my own." Her face is red from illness and crying, and there is mascara lining the tracks of tears down her cheeks. "Do you know how close I am to having nothing? One wrong move or word and I would be out on the streets with no food, no clothes, no friends, no place to stay... And he gets angry and doesn't understand when I say I am afraid of gambling on him being the right choice."
"Oh he's the best pianist in the world," she says, emphatically. "He plays while I sing, at the club. He says we could take the world by storm..."
She shakes her head as the tears slow, and the look on her face resolves into a confused frown. "Nonono, Ned's a baker, like me, and he doesn't even know how to play a piano. What's going on?"

She give him a smug, rather flirtatious smile. "I'm Delysia LeFosse."
Sarah Grubb.
Rae Seddon.
"I'm soon to star in a major West End musical."
If Phil didn't choose that stupid rabbit as his leading lady.

So what if she played the part of the crowd? >_>
"Is he looking for a new star?"

He'd even talked to Guppy about Sunshine, yesterday.

"Can't... be sick in a bakery, after all." Really confused look, there.

It does, doesn't it?
