[Shortly after thisThere is a slim, serious woman sitting at a booth. Her posture is a bit stiff, but it's the stiffness of someone who's very uptight. Her red silk suit is impeccably pressed and her gold-rimmed glasses are secured by a delicate chain of the same metal which hangs around her neck ( Read more... )

There's a woman sitting across from her, wearing a blazer and skirt combination.

She also has glasses, thin-lensed and rimless. They are not secured by a chain.

There's a harried air to her, aided by the slightly rumpled collar of her blouse. Every so often she fusses with it, as if attempted to flatten it out.

So far it is not working.

The woman in red across from her looks up and offers a tight smile. Her eyes glance down at the shake and then back up as if asking if another should be ordered.

The woman in blue taps her index finger against her teeth, considering.

Then she purses her lips, shaking her head once.

No milkshake for her, thanks.

She receives a minute shrug in return.

Very well. Her loss.

Then she gets a pair of delicately raised eyebrows. They're somewhat hard to see behind the golden frames which sit in front of them, but they're there nonetheless.

Their most recent venture seemed quite successful.

Ako isn't dressed up at all. Still neat, but that's habit and social momentum at work.

Being Bound is tricky on her sense of what day it is.

Or week, maybe.

We are still in January, right?

Anyway, Cass is making Ako feel pretty much completely under-dressed up right now.

Compared to Cass, Ako is completely under-dressed right now.

Not that Cass has much of an opinion on the subject. After all, she knows plenty of people who do not dress so formally who are perfectly nice people.

In fact, Cass is usually one of them.

So, sure Ako is under-dressed, but that's okay.

Oh most of Ako's issues only live in her mind. She even kind of knows this.

They're still issues.

Maybe Ako should try dressing up some of the days here? It would fill some time if nothing else, and looking good can be fun.

Maybe if she tries the outfit Cass is wearing first, or one like it.

If she asks, Cass will be glad to lend her this very outfit!

Cass is generous that way. And doesn't usually go for silk suits, besides.

. . .

The young man walking towards the bar shows no sign of knowing these well-dressed women; his gaze slides over them both with the impersonal politeness of a stranger's glance.

Unless, of course, Cass or X gives him a signal otherwise.

Trowa is not so inept as to interfere with an infiltration.

Which signal is that? Is it the disdainful glance given by the woman in red with the gold-framed glasses? Because he's getting one.

It's actually quite a good disdainful glance.

Very disdainful. Very glance-like.

Well, it's no skin off Trowa's nose if a strange businesswoman is disdainful at him. His ego is secure on this point! And, uh, most points.

Continuing towards Bar, then.

The woman in blue sighs, impatient and a little tired.

Then she drums her fingers on the tabletop, looking off into the middle distance.

If said middle distance tends to be more where Trowa is than not --

Well.

Aside from the strange hairstyle, he's not that unattractive.

If you like rough trade.

Quatre is seated at a nearby table, also dressed impeccably as a businessman (one who considers waistcoats and cufflinks de rigueur), though while his posture is straight it's rather more relaxed than hers. He's reading an air quality industry magazine and, as he's uncertain what she's doing, politely ignoring her.

When he looks up from the magazine for a moment to pick up his teacup, his gaze scans past her; he essays a polite smile, before returning to his reading.

The woman glances up, eying him through her thin, but stylish lenses.

For just a split second, far too quickly for most people to catch, she smiles brightly. And then she just smiles politely.

Quatre briefly considers the matter, before closing his magazine and cocking his head slightly at her, expression still amiable but posture more that of someone willing to move. Does she mind if he joins her?

(He'll use his words once they're in easy speaking distance.)

She turns her hand over. It's a brief gesture, but does clearly indicate the seat across from her.

If he wishes to sit, she certainly won't object.
