Vergil does not understand this human custom of Christmas, even with the data it was able to retrieve from the New Mombasa city superintendent. However, it does understand that the holiday meant several humans on board the Spark In Darkness gave it new and interesting devices to play with

That's a lot to be taking apart and putting back together.

Ako kind of hopes it's meant to be puzzles or building toys that are supposed to come apart and together easily.

It probably isn't though.

They're not. They're all different devices for working with and monitoring equipment on board a UNSC heavy cruiser. In another time they'd have stickers on them stating that opening the casing voids the warranty.

Vergil does not care for such stickers.

Ako is kind of entranced as she wanders closer. At some point she'll stop and maybe Vergil will say hi then?

Or at least look up and twitter. Vergil's species doesn't really have vocal capabilities beyond whistles and chirps.

It does wave one tentacle, though. That gesture, at least, looks familiar.
