Getting things done.

Sallie's sitting at the bar drinking coffee from her Winchester Birthday Present mug when she suddenly sits up a little straighter. If she were any more evident, a light bulb would have gone off over her head.

Sallie Reynolds has an ideaTen minutes later, on her coffee refill and her knees on the rug in front of the fireplace, she is starting to ( Read more... )

Urquhart is leaning against a pillar not far away and watching the odd things that emerge from the box.

The first item Sallie reaches in for is a velvet picture of some green character with a questionable choice of clothing. Hrm. Odd.

But next is an elaborate and heavy necklace, with a blue pendant in the shape of a heart.

The necklace looks very, very valuable, and Urquhart wonders how it comes to be in that box, with all the other odd things.

That painting of a green figure, however...

"What ears!" he says, amused.

Sallie looks up, slightly startled at realizing so suddenly that she was being watched.

"Do you want it? I'm cleaning it out."

"What are you doing?" a curious Scorpius asks from a nearby armchair. He's shoving his feet into a pair of thick winter boots, intent on heading outside in a few.

"Goin' through the Lost and Found. I thought if things had been in here long enough, they could be declared abandoned and re-gifted out to folk," Sallie offers. "Some neat stuff in here too."

Scorpius leans forward slightly, forgetting the laces on his boots in favour of peering into the box.

"What sort of - "

He breaks off as he plucks out a colourful My Little Pony by the one strand of hair left in its tail.

"Uhm."

"Oh, that's Ben's!" Sallie reaches forward to claim them from the young man's hand.

Uh.

"He's a special man," she offers by way of explanation.

Arcade's only been here twice now, but he definitely likes this place better than the Atomic Wrangler. It's cleaner, better lit, safer, and doesn't have James Garret in it. Granted, it's kind of weird being somewhere that doesn't have armed guards visible at the doors or ghouls on the entertainment staff, but you can't have everything.

Or possibly you can, given some of the things he's spotted coming out of that box. Hopefully Sallie won't mind too much if he leans over to have a look, his drink and book currently forgotten.

She wouldn't mind - not normally.

The thing that makes right now not all that normal though is that she is in the process of pulling out a rather large black umbrella, and she keeps leaning backward until the back of her hand hits against something behind her and she jumps.

"Whoop. Sorry, ma'am." Arcade steps to one side. "That's... awfully big. How did it fit in that box in the first place?"

"Oh! Hello there." She's used to getting walked up to - and frankly, kind of asking for it, playing with the box in the middle of the fireplace rug - so she just looks up and smiles at the newcomer.

"The box holds much more than what it looks like it should. I'm just giving it a good once-through. Needin' an umbrella in your world?"

"Bloody hell! You're ancient, you are!"

Ron, with his bacon sandwich momentarily forgotten and greasy fingers, snatches up one of the brooms the woman has pulled from the box.

"'Ey!"

Indignance, from the lady with the silver hair. "Watch who you're callin' ancient, young man."

The lady with the silver hair barely gets a glance. No time for apologies, only awe.

(He wasn't even talking about her anyway. Even if she might be as old as the broom in his hands.)

"It's the first Cleansweep ever made! Blimey, it looks brand new too. Barely used."

Huh.

"It's just a broom."

"What're you doing?"

Rue had been planning on eating breakfast near the fireplace (it's quickly become her favorite spot in the whole place), but whatever this lady is doing looks much more interesting.

"I'm cleaning out the Lost and Found box, little one," Sallie smiles. "Would you like to help me?"

"All right," Rue nods. Back home she always helped her mother when asked. This is no different.

She sits on the floor on another side of the box and looks inside; there's a lot of stuff in here.

"What're you going to do with it all?"

"I was thinking of trying to find the people who had these things. If I can't, then I thought I could give them all to people who would need them."
