On the 12th Floor

[Some time ago, before a long stretch of mun-absence, this happened. Pretend it wasn't a year ago.]Today, in the salon in her room on the 12th floor, Hedwig is fiddling with the music selections, considering just putting it on shuffle, but preferring a little more control than that ( Read more... )

'Here' is a nice little place--she went with classic black for the decor, rather than pink. Easier to keep clean that way.

Hedwig (dressed in jeans, boots, and with a t-shirt the design of which is hidden by her cherry-print apron) glances up from the music system and smiles.

"Come on in, honey. Can I get you a drink?"

"Orange juice, coming right up. Have a seat..."

She gives a gesture that encompasses both the regular salon chair and the more comfortable waiting-chairs near the obligatory table with magazines.

"You look a little lost."

A small, brown face topped with very poofy red hair peers around the edge of the doorway.

Hedwig doesn't notice at first--she's too busy with the music--but when she turns, she gets a startled blink and then a smile.

"Hello there, honey."

Ed shuffles into the doorway. As previously mentioned, her hair is very poofy, and also overgrown and tangled. "Is this a haircut place? Ed did not know there was a haircut place."

A Welsh corgi peeks around the edge of the door, too, then trots to stand beside Ed.

"It's new," she says, "I only just opened it... yesterday? Yesterday, I think. But I didn't really do anything with it. Are you looking for a haircut?"

Sometime after Ed's haircut, an olive-skinned, almond-eyed, very pregnant woman toddles into the salon. She immediately sits down in the nearest available chair. Hey, twelve flights of stairs are a lot to walk up even for someone who's not five and a half months pregnant with twins.

The chairs are very comfortable, at least. They have to be, given the out-of-the-way location.

Hedwig smiles, from over by the minibar. "Hiya, honey. What can I do for you?"

"Oh! Hi." She looks a little nervous. "Um. I wanted a haircut? I'm not really sure how this is supposed to work..."

"Anything in particular, or just a trim?" she asks. "We're full-service here; anything you might want, we can probably do for you."
