It's dark, just before dawn, and Karkat is outside, lurking. (He doesn't mean to lurk, but he's got a lurk-friendly color pallette.) He found this outdoors area earlier, and he's had a good time prancing around with his sickle being all adorabloodthirsty venting his constant frustrations, but he'll have to go inside soon. Even if the human sun ( Read more... )

"Nice t'see you took my advice t'heart." Head-to-toe black aside, Axel's hair and face stand out well enough under the moonlight; his hood's not up, so clearly he's not trying to hide.

The narration tried to resist, but not very hard, or for very long.

He darts a glowering sideways glance at Axel. "THEY FUCKING STARTED IT."

"Yeah, they usually do," Axel agrees. That might be why there's carbonised remains of rabbit on his boots. "Not smart enough t'tell the difference between prey and everything else."

On Alternia, there's only things that prey on you and things you prey on. It's not so much a foodchain as... food chainmail.

"WE HAD THESE ON ALTERNIA. OR PRETTY MUCH. THEY WERE ALWAYS SCAMPERING AROUND THE LAWNRINGS."

Adorabloodthirsty.

>Sativa: Happen to be nearby. findthegeck October 14 2010, 00:53:48 UTC
The post-nuclear Tribal is an early riser by habit, so this is a good time to take her two-headed hoofbeast friend for a walk as well as a nibble at the grass and some refreshment from a non-irradiated water source.

Sativa is kitted out to resemble someone from one of those Troll-Mad Max films (if there ever were and whatever overly-long title it went by), with a spear she keeps for the smaller, non-armed threats in one hand and the other holding a rope tethered to Bessie, who meanders wherever she likes.

The grey boy's nubby orange candy-corns horns catches the attention of one of the Brahmin's sets of eyes, eliciting an inquisitive moo.

Karkat glowers at the hoofbeast. Since the human has a weapon out, he keeps his sickle handy as he approaches; it looks exceptionally crude, like a giant's jawbone set with flint teeth. Primitive, but so keen that the flints sharpen to a blue-grey haze in the air.

"HEY. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?"

He's not talking to the human.

"Hey, we were just out for a-" she starts, eyes on the sickle.

The child may have been born with too few heads and its skeletal structure twisted all out of place, but Bessie will love the little hideously deformed mutant like her own calf.

"Moo." "Moo?"

Says the cow.

He pats a nose gingerly. "GOOD HOOFBEAST. WHAT ARE YOU DOING WANDERING AROUND WITH A HUMAN?"

>Ryuk: Investigate someone interesting. ringo2omoshiro October 14 2010, 01:53:46 UTC
The gods of death come in all colors and sizes, including ones like Ryuk with a startling resemblance to adult trolls apart from the wings and the lack of horns. There are not, however, any juvenile shinigami; the gods of death do not reproduce by the same means as humans. Nor, for the most part, do they need to carry weapons as such; if somebody keeps attacking you long after it should have been obvious it wasn't going to cut through all the years you've taken, you can just write his name in your Note and get it over with.

Therefore, Ryuk concludes, the midget with the sickle is obviously not a shinigami. He sure does look like one at a distance, though, which is why the god of death flying over the outdoors swoops down for a closer inspection.

Karkat Vantas. Less than 24 hours to live. Currently on pause.

"WHAT THE FUCK!" He leaps back, brandishing the sickle. It looks primitive--like the jawbone of a giant, set with razor-sharp flints so keen they leave blue-grey trails in the air. Primitive but imbued with some kind of void powers; ?ronos' Be?uest.

Ryuk's reaction might also be summarized as what the fuck! He recognizes the Void powers... and backs off because of them.
死んだ後にいくところ、無である。
The scent of Mu wafts from Karkat's weapon; that scythe might conceivably be able to cut off some of Ryuk's extra lifespan.
After they die, the place they go is MU (Nothingness).
"Whoa!" He settles to the ground at a safe but audible distance from Karkat, keeping his wings ready in case he needs to make a quick exit. "I'm not here to hurt you! I was just curious, is all!"

Karkat stows the weapon* back in his strife deck; it isn't really any harder to get there than in his hand. "SO YOU JUST COME SWOOPING OUT OF THE DARKNESS LIKE SOME GIANT FEATHERY ASSHOLE?"

*A late-stage SICKLEKIND weapon Equius, the HEIR OF VOID, got from his DENIZEN in the LAND OF CAVES AND SILENCE.
