"Greetings," Teja says, reading the specials. "You do indeed love apples, do you?"

"They are practically perfect in every way.

"What can I make for you? Or serve." He sweeps a hand to the pasties.

"Do you think I might have cider?" Teja says. "Such odd drinks with names can bring unpleasant surprises."

"Of course you can have cider. Hot and spiced or chilled?"

The pastries catch Moist's eye since the strudel could almost be from Uberwald.

At the moment, he's looking rather neat in his second best suit though without the jacket,

"Did you make those?"

"More or less," Jack says cheerfully.

He doesn't cook, as such. He just sort of ... causes.

"They look tasty. I'll have one of those,"

He points to the strudel,

"What are the drinks like? I'm not familiar with any of them?"

Jack cuts him a slice of strudel.

"Two of them are spicy, and the other is just whiskey with apple juice in."

"Let me guess," says the smartass in the jeans and the red sweatshirt, "apple season?"

"It's always apple seasons if you know how to look."

[blinkandyoumiss]

"Yeah, I guess it is."

He flips Jack an amused smirk. "I'll have the apple strudel. And the apple cake."

Beat.

"Apple caramel cheesecake looks good, too."

Jack chuckles and cuts him a slice of each.

He never was a teenage boy himself (except for that one time in the 1300s) but he's had many sons.

Many, many sons.

And one more who'll be a teenaged demigod any day now.

"Eat. Enjoy."

She's shifting a pile of papers into the crook of one arm when she approaches the bar.

"Hi," Kim says, with a cheerful smile at the bartender. "... I was going to get coffee, but those specials look really interesting."

"I can also do coffee, but apples are better for you."

[bannion_sight]

"Oh, I know that," she laughs. "But I like coffee. It's a quandary."

Kim reaches across the bar, offering her hand.

"I'm Kim Ford, by the way."

He shakes her hand.

...when their hands touch there are any number of things she could see from him, about him, inside him: that he is ancient, so very ancient, that he enjoys stillness and wind, that he has been a tree more than he's been a man, that he has forgotten his own name and hardly minds ...

"Jack Green," is all he says.

That...is a lot of things to do with apples.

And Trudy hasn't even heard of the food-related ones.

Cue on Marine pilot from the 22nd century, just staring.

Jack tilts his head a moment, and then gives her a lovely Red Delicious.

"Start small."

Oddly enough, her smile is small, and grateful, and a lot softer than her uniform would suggest.

"Thanks. That obvious I ain't used to...all that?" Her gesture takes in the whole board, but she means the 'to eat' section.

She also doesn't bite the apple, not just yet.

"The staring was a giveaway.

"Jack Green, lover of apples." He sticks out his hand.
