OOM: the only thing you can do when you're in a terrible situation is close your eyes and get on with it.

The man in the doorway drops his cell phone.

It snaps, breaking badly, before he stares blankly. Two minutes ago this ways most definately not a fucking bar.Mark is suddenly very aware of just how shitty he looks-sweat stained shirt, burns ( Read more... )

Teller's not had the duty of welcoming a new person before, but what the hell? He's willing to try anything once.

Mark may find a man in a grey suit leaning over the back of the nearest booth, watching him curiously.

He does a double take. That's not Jeff..

That for that matter is not a cop. For a moment he mistakes him for Eric, but he's too thin. Not as brawny-for that matter, not as tied up.

"Hello?"

He stops short as his foot hits the cell phone, "Fuckingshit-"

He turned around in a circle, "Hey-buddy? can you uh...can you help me out here?"

To say he's confused is an understatement.

Teller's attention shifts down to the busted phone.

He's never seen anything like it. He picks it up carefully (he doesn't want to break it even more, after all) and turns it over in his hands several times, examining the tiny little intricacies.

It's clear what it is, but it's practically light years beyond anything available in Teller's time.

Mark frowns, "...Hey man-"

Well, those were cheap. Scratching the back of his neck, Mark eyeballs the phone, "You can go ahead and keep that if you want.."

He knew where Corbett was. He could go back and find her. Turning around (This must be a dream) he straightens and heads back before...

"...Hey pal-pal-"

He waves at the man with the phone, "Help me out here."

When the phone breaks, Sameth stops on his way to a table and comes over.

He's just a young man in a rather medieval outfit with forge grime on him,

"Do you need help fixing that?"

"Fixing?..."

He stares at the phone before staring back at the man. Alright, so when did the Medieval Fair get into town?

Whatever.

"...It's fine. I can get another one. I um-" If this was a dream it was one of the weirdest he'd ever been in, "I'm a little lost actually..."

"Oh, this is Milliways. I make things so I might be able to help,"

Also Sam's always wanted to see the inside of one of those little phones, so many people carry them around here.

He hesitates, "Give me a minute."

Picking up alot of the pieces, he pulls out a handkerchief and wipes it down. Regardless of it being a dream there was no point in not being careful. He hesitated, looking at it and wondering just-

Don't think about it.. Sure. you're thinking like the serial killer. Great Mark.

He grimaces, "Take it. You can keep that. It's a fuckin' pay-as-you-go phone."

"Lost?"

She can spot a newcomer a mile away - and with her abilities, that's literally. She coils her fingertips around the glass in front of her and finally glances in his direction - she'd smelled him coming before that.

He scratches the back of his neck. Lost? That's an understatement.. On the one hand he was about to emerge a hero and rescue a kid and suddenly ending up in a dream...

Which this had to be....

"....I think I might be a little bit." He offers her a very slight goofy look. Mark's good at those, "....This is uh-This isn't my normal-well.."

He was going to say dream but, "..Anything."

"Oh, baobei," she chuckles, giving him a coy look that's all dark eyes behind long lashes.

(She's good at those.)

"I don't think anything involving this place could fall under the category of 'normal'."

Normal ended when his sister died for him. He can handle not-normal.

"You'd be surprised how I define normal." His gaze goes upward, "Besides-I'm dreaming."

He's clearly passed out or..something. Right?
