There's a flash of blue flame at a nearby table, and then someone is there.

Someone waves to a rat and orders a glass of something raw and wriggling.

Ava happens to know that blue flame rather well.

She was already a little ... not on-edge ... okay, on-edge ... to be hanging out with Riley in plain sight again, so in that sense she was prepared for something to happen; this is probably why all that happens is she ducks quickly to pick up some of the Jenga blocks on the floor, adjusting her silvery headband as she does.

Oh please oh please do not come over here.

While not intentionally an outgoing message, it is terribly fervent.

"Looks like most of them missed the glass!" she calls cheerfully, to Riley.

There's the distinctive ping of a mental communication from The Boss.

The communique, while sudden, is actually the welcome kind of surprise (as opposed to the unwelcome kind, which would involve D'Hoffryn marching over and asking her to dig up something from 1902, while Riley blinked a lot). Nevertheless, she does jump a bit, and ew what is that in her hair now?

Ava glances to Riley as she sets a few Jenga pieces back on the table, and sends back a message:

Ummm. If you do, maybe I don't work for you? I'm still keeping that on the down-low around here.
