A masked man, clad entirely in black with a sword at his hip, steps in through the door. Behind him, before the door swings shut, there is a brief glimpse of what looks like a library. He raises one eyebrow, rests a leather-gloved hand on the hilt of his sword, and steps into the room. Interesting ...

There was a Musketeer sipping some port with a light lunch, and making note of the stranger with his hand on his sword. His own free hand lightly rested on the hilt of his as he took note of the other man's arrival.

"I bid you welcome to Milliways, monsieur."

It looks like a good lunch, as well - Westley can't fault a library with a hostelry in it, that serves good food. Hopefully someone in here will be able to show him the way out - after he has eaten.

He smiles and bows.

"I thank you for your hospitality!"

"Thank Mademoiselle Bar if someone is to be thanked. We are all awarded with her fine and generous hospitality. There is a curious magic about her that allows it thus," Aramis corrected him with a gesture toward the Bar.

"First drink is free, and you can ask her for almost anything."

The eyebrow goes back up again, and the Man in Black glances over at the bar, and then back at the Frenchman. He's obviously insane, how very sad. Still, the crazy ones are usually the most dangerous.

Milliways perhaps isn't the most welcoming of places on first introduction, when you're not used to inter-dimensional travel. The patrons, the strange smells, strange drinks, the Window of course, and who could forget the sentient Bar?

There are, however, a few welcoming faces among the crowd. One, belonging to a petite, blonde cowgirl, is turned towards a tumbler of bourbon sitting on the Bar. Her guns are at her hips, but we promise she won't bite.

Guns? On a girl? Lots of men of his time would disapprove, the Man in Black heartily approves of such things. He's not wearing a hat so he can't doff it at her, but when their eyes meet he bows. One must never forget courtesy, after all.

There's the briefest moment of hesitation before she returns the bow with a polite incline of her head. A man all in black, with a mask to match? It's not the strangest sight she's seen in Milliways by far, but it does make her pause.

"Evenin'," she smiles, speaking with a soft, Southern drawl.

"Is it?" He asks, sounding mildly surprised and amused. "Good lord. I must have been lost for longer than I thought. I could have sworn it was shortly after breakfast. But, no matter! If you say it is evening, then evening it shall be! A very good evening to you, m'lady."

A moment passes.

Behind him, a short redhead clears her throat.

She too is dressed in black, though it's broken up by the scarlet and gold on her tunic. There's a sword of a different sort at her hip, and her hand likewise touches the hilt when she notices his. Some things are ingrained.

He carries himself well. It's the next thing she notices, after his back.

He spins lightly on his heel - she might notice that as well - when he hears the sound behind him, fingers curling a little more tightly about his sword, although he doesn't even start to draw it. Showing steel when one is not absolutely sure that one will have to use it is never entirely wise.

Well, now. This place is full of strange women, it would seem - and this one is looking at him with the sort of interest that he usually reserves for potential marks. The sort of interest that sees things. He might do well to behave himself.

He bows. "My lady."

He might, indeed. If he looks closely, he might notice a strange badge affixed to her sword belt. It reads: SECURITY.

Alanna would note, however, that his failure to draw his sword is making an admirable start.

She tilts her head to the side and studies him with a steady purple stare. At last she returns the bow, amusement crinkling her eyes at the corners.

"My sir."

He does see the badge, but fails to understand it's significance - so his behaviour is entirely unforced, as it were.

"Roberts," he says, "if we must be formal. And I must say, it is always a pleasure to meet a lady who carries a blade with such assurance." He likes women with some spunk. So many of the women in his world are pale colourless little things.

Whoa indeed. He has never seen anyone with such unnaturally coloured hair. It's oddly fetching. He raises an eyebrow at her.

"Yes, m'lady?"

He looks down at himself, surprised. His style of dress isn't that unusual - although he flatters himself that he pulls it off a lot better than many men he knows.

"And I, likewise, have never seen anyone with quite such brightly coloured hair."

He smirks, and fingers the hilt of the blade.

"It serves its purpose."
