Bar must be giving everyone decks of cards today. First Gus and now the angel - hard for Charlie to find two more opposite beings.

"Why don't you pass the time by playing a little solitaire?"

Castiel looks up, gravely.

"I do not know how to play solitaire."

He spreads a fan of aces, tens, and sevens, alternating red and black, across the upper right corner of the table.

No, old movie quotes are going to go right by Castiel, aren't they?

"What games do you know?" The answer seems evident.

This is probably a safe bet.

"I know none," Castiel admits.

"I asked Bar for some sort of quiet activity. This is what it provided."

"Perhaps I should have requested instructions."

But he had kind of wanted to see what he could do on his own first.

"Hi, Castiel!"

See? If anything happens in the bar, she has lots of people to call on for help. Like Castiel!

"Are you playing a game?"

"Hello, Ingress."

Castiel looks up from the queens and twos he is arranging in a square.

He glances back down at his cards for a moment.

"No. I do not believe so," he replies.

Entertaining himself? Yes. Playing a game? Probably less so.

"Oh, are you going to make a house out of them, then?"

Ingress has entertained herself with cards a time or two. There's a very old deck that has beautiful paintings on the cards. She loves playing with those.

"Making a.........house?"

Castiel looks down at the playing cards, attempting to work out how such a thing might be possible.

Perhaps it is a metaphor. He is not terribly good at interpreting those.

"Out of cards?"

Castiel looks up.

Frowning. Apparently a little confused.

"Solitaire?" he asks.

"I do not know how to play any games," Castiel says.

He knows that there are a great many of them. But is ignorant as to how to play any of them.

"I was merely.....these arrangements are pleasing. Aesthetically."

There's a moment, passing by the table, when Cordelia vaguely thinks she remembers him -- but no, it's not the same man.

Almost none of the people she knew, back when, seem to be here anymore.

The card layout has caught her attention, though, and without meaning to she lingers a second longer to examine the pattern.

The scrutiny catches Castiel's notice, and he glances up long enough to nod to the woman politely.

"Hello."

He arranges a diagonal line of clubs across the center of the table.

"Hi," she says back, cheerfully enough. "Sorry if I disturbed your concentration. That looks pretty complicated."

"You were not," Castiel assures her.

"This does not require a great degree of concentration."

Three times. Three times Angel has managed to win a fight with a demon, but end up with a (fortunately, metal) sword sticking through him.

At least Spike wasn't involved this time.

Which might be why the vampire and Champion of the Powers That Be is already at Bar and asking for a towel ("Uh, sorry. I think I'm gonna need a bigger one.") before he takes care of his little pointy problem.

Castiel is distracted from his cards and assesses the situation silently for several moments.

He thinks of directing the man (though not a human man, surely, walking around with a mortal wound) to the infirmary. But he seems to be suffering few ill effects despite the sword.

"Do you require assistance?" he asks after a moment.

Angel looks up in surprise, opens his mouth to reply, then shuts it before looking down at the sword sticking out of him. When he looks up again--well, he's looking a bit sheepish.

"Uh, yeah?"

"But it seems like a weird thing to ask. We haven't even met."

He's making assumptions about Castiel's world. Angel meeting someone like this back home wouldn't be all that unusual.

That is an easy enough matter to correct.

"My name is Castiel."

He stands and extends a hand toward the protruding hilt of the sword, pausing with a Shall I? look on his face.

The man may want a chance to brace himself, after all.
