Vergil is less than happy with how the Door behaved yesterday, but there is nothing to be done about that. Every time the Huragok has tried to open the door since then, it's opened onto a different interstellar vista. It's a little disturbing ( Read more... )

The engineer is being watched by the girl with the cybernetic arm.

A strange life form who also seems to be adept at technology? The scientist side of her mind is squeeing.

It may be a moment before the creature notices her attention. Its species is known for falling into an almost obsessive reverie when working with tech; it often takes gunfire to get their attention, and even then it's fifty-fifty odds at best. Eventually, though, it sets the vocalizer assembly aside and glances up, blinking all six eyes in the human's direction.

Jordan is not that bad, really: gunfire snaps her out of her science (mad genius) reveries quickly enough. "Hi." She also has only two eyes to blink towards the floating squid-thing.

No, not surprised or scared or... Vergil actually looks much more like what she expected a true alien form to look like.

You can only stand so many cat-people and cute green-skinned beings before you start wondering if the universe is on crack.

It's a species thing. Then again, Huragok have a few other advantages that make it a little more survivable.

It dips its head and raises its two forward tentacles, spreading them out in a gesture not unlike a human spreading all his or her fingers. So far not even the Spartan human has understood the Huragok sign for hello, but hope springs eternal and all that.
