It's been a few weeks since Tom encountered Marjory Stewart-Baxter again. It's been fewer still since she laid her eggs in his arm. Tom and Marjory have a long, odd history, but he has been judged worthy of incubating her puppetlings.

He doesn't know this important fact. He does know he's having strange, unsettling dreams of late ( Read more... )

Cameron is surveying the room.

The parts of the room that are repeatedly scratching their arms get more than their fair share of attention.

He's being subtle with the itching. She must be able to pick up freakishly on details, is all.

itch, itch, itch

She tilts her head, studying him.

His arm is hidden by his sleeve. She can't see the source of his discomfort.

He catches her watching him and scowls.

When he feels another itch, he refrains from scratching. So there.

Puck may not know anything about medicine, but he does know from stressed out looks.

"Good even."

"Oh, hullo, Puck," he says in a distracted fashion.

Then his head snaps up, looking for any hanging foliage. Phew. None in sight.

He may notice that, and laugh.

"How are you faring, dear sir? You seem somewhat befuddled."

"Not befuddled. Merely vexed," he scowls.

"Not by you," he clarifies. "I'm not feeling myself tonight. I'm hoping copious amounts of scotch might help with that."

"You do not look well," Mary remarks, with an admirable lack of respect for her friend's guardian/parental figure.

"Hullo to you, as well, Mary," he says, refraining from itching his arm.

He is, perhaps, a bit testier than Mary has ever seen him.

Mary ignores any hints about polite greetings.

"If you are ill," she informs him, instead, "there is an infirmary. It is better that you go and learn if you are ill or not, then run about infecting other people."

"I am not ill," he informs her.

Temple and Arch, when did she become so tall and demanding? Wait, she was always demanding. She wasn't tall, though.

"Thank you for your concern."

Ugh, he doesn't want to go to the infirmary, either. It might be better than St. Mungo's but only just.

Now, Ace considers Mr. Riddle to be... if not a friend, at least friendly. He takes good care of Ingress, which counts for a lot in her book.

He's also kind of creepy. He hasn't done anything, no, but... huh. It's probably the 'British Public School' vibe. Or something. She's always been a little leery of magic-users since Tim, not that she thinks he's much like Tim in any respect (too much gender-identity and responsibility).

So when someone who's fairly decent and a little spooky starts looking edgy, it's enough to put the local kitty-girls on edge too. Hrm.

He has not noticed any edginess, because he's in a self-centered mode about now. However, he does remember his manners. This is one of Ingress' teachers, and as such, a person of worth.

"Hullo, Ace. How are you this evening?"

"Fair 'nough, no major drama thus far. How..." She starts to ask, then chickens out, a bit. "'S Ingress?"

Lame, Pyro. Lame.

"No major drama, eh? That's good news," he says.

Just you wait.

"Ingress is very well. I'll tell her you asked after her."

(ooc: very slow but it had been ages for them.)

Draco was doing some last minute poring over books, and glancing nearby to where Mia was talking with Uncle. Still had a few days till she was due so that should be all right. As long as there's no stress.

When he got up to order some more tea, he caught a glimpse of Tom, and smiled. It has been too long since they've spoken. But his old friend and surrogate big brother seemed out of sorts.

"Hullo Tom, everything all right?"

"Draco, it's brilliant to see you," he says, and he has a genuine smile on his face for the first time this evening.

"Oh, I'm- fine, I suppose. How is Mia?"
