Dick Winters comes in with a slight limp. It's nothing he'll complain about, not really. He sits down at the nearest (unoccupied) table, taking off his helmet and placing it on the tabletop once he's properly settled. The bar as a whole is still something he's not completely at ease with, but the brief reprieve is still something he appreciates. ( Read more... )

Jane is writing at the Bar when she notices Dick and smiles,

"Its been far too long since you've graced Milliways, sir."

"You're too kind."

Smiling slightly, Winters tips the brim of an imaginary hat in Jane's direction, resting the spoon bar has given him on the edge of the bowl.

"Always a pleasure to see you, miss."

"May I ask what you're eating? It looks rather cooling."

"Ice cream," he answers, looking down at the bowl as if surprised to see it there.

"Vanilla. Care for a taste?"

Unfortunately for Septimus, there's someone outside.
Cata's distracted, though, taking pot shots at the demon rabbits with her crossbow. She may not notice the not-quite-company for a bit, given that.

(The rabbits are, incidentally, another thing that the prince has not really reconciled with.)

He stops some distance away from Cata, watching her practice with mild interest. Crossbows aren't something he's seen before, let alone wielded by a woman.

(They're more than a little unusual, yes, but they also seem to be fair game, when it comes to hunting or target practice. And sometimes you just want to practice against something that moves.)
The feeling of being watched is a hard one to miss, especially given her training. After a few shots more, she pauses and looks in his direction.
"My apologies. I didn't know someone else was out here."

Septimus shakes his head, mouth twisting into a wry approximation of a smile.

"What is that?" he asks, nodding at the thing in her hands, although, really, on his lips it's less a question than a demand for an answer.

Kate offers Michael a smile from a couple of stools down the bar.

"You know," she says, lifting her smoothie in a toast of sorts, "I can't let you drink alone."
