OOM: Crash LandingWhat staggers into the Bar is likely only recognizable at first as a humanoid covered in snow and blood. The figure staggers into a table, hissing in pain from the impact. One arm comes up to wipe the snow away from the the figure's head, revealing a pair of aviator goggles ( Read more... )

A little too fast for the baseline eye to follow, the man in the gray suit is at the new arrival's side. "You're not hallucinating, Jake," he says. "However, where this place is concerned, I think only your own experience can convince you of that."

Only then, when he's got that said, does he let himself think about it. Jake. With both eyes, yet, so from before '43. This could be... interesting, in the Chinese sense.

It's not nice to pull the faster than a speeding bullet trick on a man with a concussion, Doc.

"Doc?!? What the hell?" This is Jake's confused face. "Last I heard you weren't anywhere near Asia never mind Tibet."

Tibet. That narrows it down considerably. I'm guessing he's in from the Turkish Blend caper. "You heard right, Jake. Tibet's on the other side of that door. This is... sort of a hidden realm, actually. Like the Dinosaur Swamp, but with more food and drink and fewer huge saurians trying to step on you. - I'll explain in more detail once you're in better shape. Right now, we need to get you bandaged up. At least." He puts an arm under both of Jake's to support him and starts leading him over toward a booth.

Jake cracks a grin, "Sounds like my kind of place."

Then he winces as Michael helps him move toward a booth. "Feels like I've nicked a lung, damn it all," he mutters. "I'm just glad I got that hashish out of the Tong's hands. Maybe you or Dixon can finally figure out what makes the Turk's blend tick."

Someone like Connor... "Damn it... what happened?" The young man moves over quickly.

Jake looks up at the sound of the young man's voice. "Several people took exception to my existence and decided to shoot down the plane I was flying," Jake quips.

"The poor dear held herself together as long as she could, long enough for me to bail out..."

He's a bit wary right now, as he doesn't know for sure what's going on at the moment.

"And now you need some patching up. Come on, there is an infirmary here."

"I'm Connor. Welcome to Milliways."

"Milliways? This is a hell of a place to find in the middle of nowhere, Nepal," he says with a shake of his head. He doesn't entirely trust this situation, but he suspects he's got at least one nick in a lung, something he can't treat on his own.

Then he grins, "Good to meet you, Connor. I'm Jake Stefokowski."

River's head snaps around.

A moment of staring -- and then the bracelet she was examining is slipped over her wrist, and she's off the table and hurrying across the bar.

Jake happens to be looking in the right direction to see River coming toward him.

"Hello, Miss," he says with a pained smile. "I don't suppose there's a doctor in the house?"

(OOC: Unfortunately, I must ask for a slow-time for the night. Is this okay with you.)

[OOC: Totally fine! Sleep well. :) I was guessing on whether the post was still open, anyhow.]

"Lots," says River, low, and slips closer. If he lets her, she'll duck under the arm of whatever his less injured side is, for support.

River does not, as a rule, worry about getting other people's blood on her clothes.

"Oh, good," he says with a characteristic grin, wobbling a bit on his feet. The less injured side would be his left, although that's not by much. At least none of the ribs on that side are poking any internal organs.

"The old girl kept me alive, but I got banged up a bit," he says with a sad smile. Some people might say that he was a little too attached to an inanimate object.
