She quickly sits down and looks him over to see where he was bitten while pouring the tea and putting a warm steak and kidney pie in front of him,
"According to the various physicians here, you need to drink liquids and eat red meat."

And then under that, a faint trace of blood like a lingering shadow.
George glanced up from his book to peer at the other gentleman's arrival. Something rather telling in that paleness. He set his book, a fascinating comparison of the Romance languages to the side before getting up.
"Here, you need a hand?"

About five different alarm bells go off at once in Buffy's head, drowning out the little voice in the back of it reminding her to call Security. "Giles, please tell me you're hungover."

Giles automatically looks up, blinking a little. She sounds worried--really, there's no reason for her to be. He should reassure her.
"I... no, I don't believe so. I haven't had any truly copious amounts of alcohol in--"
Beat.
"I... don't remember how long."
It isn't strictly true, but he sounds tired enough for it to be true. And really, he doesn't especially want to discuss any drinking habits he might have with her.

"I did not hit my head, Buffy," he says in a little exasperation. "I fell asleep doing some research in the Library."
Beat.
"I... probably just hadn't gotten enough rest beforehand. It would explain the headache." And the dizziness. And the woozy feeling.
Or something.

...he looks kind of woozy and anemic. And Mel knows what woozy and anemic means.
"Not you, too."

Well. That's the kind of statement that always gets a response.
He looks up, looking utterly exhausted. "I beg your pardon?"

"Feeling faint?"

"A little tired," he corrects with utter inaccuracy, and he knows it. But it sounds more dignified. "I haven't slept as much as I should in the last few days, doubtless."
Even though he distinctly remembers waking up.
