Ellen's sitting at the bar, reading over what looks like a letter.

By the time anyone gets close enough to read its contents, it'll be folded up and placed in her back pocket in the blink of an eye.

Jane turns her head when she hears Ellen order, the rasping quality of her voice is quite compelling,

"Are you well, ma'am?"

Which may not be well at all, depending on the kind of person you are.

But she's managed just fine.
