Ever have one of those days where you just can't focus on anything particular? Alyx has. She's having one at this very moment, in fact.

Supposedly, yoga and meditation can be good at alleviating that feeling. Instead, Alyx is seated in a corner booth, methodically disassembling and re-assembling her pistol over and over again.

Kait would say that it helps (after being taught it from as early as she can remember) but some days...no, it doesn't. Not that Kait is feeling like that today (thank whoever god is listening), but she recognizes something of that mental itch in the way Alyx's hands work.

Also, it's an interesting weapon (at least, she is presuming it is a weapon), and so she doesn't say anything at first. Instead, she just watches Alyx's hands and the pieces of metal.

If Alyx notices she's being watched, she doesn't give any indication. She just focuses on putting the stock back together.

At least, until she pinches her finger in between two of the pieces.

"Ow!" she hisses and sucks on the injured digit.

Kait has pinched her own fingers enough times to wince.

"Are you all right?"

[ooc: I forgot to mention I had a prior engagement tonight, and I'm going to be gone most of the weekend, so this will have to be slowtimed to hell and back. Please forgive the inconvenience.]

Alyx frowns as she tries to remember. "He said... I was using someone else's life force, and that that usually results in one or the other person dying...? And he was surprised that I didn't already know about it."
