"Yes, it has." The Devil gives him a kiss... on the forehead. "How have you been, dear?" One of her favorite ensembles, black tshirt, leather pants, heeled boots.
He looks her over, the arm gets a glance, but he's mostly measuring her for sales potential.
"Watcha got? I'm taking the best offer for it." Since he actually hadn't decided to sell the desk until he got it here.
The desk does have some wear, and a bit of tear. Red forced it through a couple doorways, used brute strength to push it down hallways, and well, the orginal owner has had cause to beat on it a bit in frustration from time to time.
Liz went for a run. It's not something she makes a regular habit of, but it's a crisp beginning-of-fall day in New Jersey today, the sort of morning where there's the perfect amount of crisp snap in the air, and she was restless. A leisurely jog through a couple of the nearby residential neighborhoods was just the ticket.
She was gone for 45 minutes tops. That's all. Forty-five minutes ago, the Bureau was relatively quiet (agents criss-crossing the halls, a plane going out to Suriname, three guys wrestling something with scales and wings into a holding cell). And somehow, in the short time that she was gone, something went down; she can hear a particular distinctive (human) bellow from a full subterranean level away.
Manning's yelling; Red isn't where she left him, and is nowhere to be seen. It doesn't take a genius to put two and two together and step into the closet
( ... )
"So does Manning. He's bellowing like a walrus." She sets her water bottle down, comes around the desk, and then leans back against it, fingers curled around the desktop edge on either side of her legs. She's dressed to run -- loose sweatpants, sneakers, and a shirt with the sleeves rolled up (all black, naturally).
Her ponytail sways faintly as she gives a shake of her head. "I wouldn't be surprised if half of Trenton could hear him."
Kait had actually paused in her own (very, very large) breakfast when Red came in. It was him, rather than the desk. Scarred, her mind supplied, here and- But her mind was too drained from Shifting to really finish that thought, and besides, after so many cultural shocks, the girl was getting numb.
So, she turned her attention to the desk.
It was a very nice desk.
But-
"Fully loaded?" Kait asked, managing to swallow her rather large mouthful with something akin to grace.

And then, a Devil whispering in his ear. "Hello, big red and handsome... I missed you."

"So what've you got? It's a great desk, lots of junk in the drawers, too."

She could always use more flat surfaces where to work. "How much?" She is already inspecting the drawers and checking for wear and tear.

He thumps the desk to show it's sturdy quality and watches her poke around.

He looks at the desk and nods proudly.
"Yeah, really grabs the attention, don't it?"

He offers the box of mini-donuts to Liz.
"How was your jog?"

(Something akin to it, anyway)

"Yeah, lots of supplies in there, pens, paper, Alka-Seltzer, it all goes with the desk."
He gives her a winning powdery salesman's smile.
