"'Fraid so." Russian accent, low female voice, short owner. Esfir's at a table, sorting through what looks like a datapad, but she's glanced up at Ellen.

The look on Ellen's face says it plainly: ain't got nothin' to do with fear.

In fact, it's more annoyance about being delayed the way she is - especially because, when she turns around to double-check her door, it's gone.

"Of course."

"Milliways. It has a habit of turning up."

Been well over a year since, Ellen thinks, but instead of saying what she wants to say, she sets her mouth in a thin, firm line.

"Oh, I remember."

Sameth's on his way to the field and so he's in his cricket whites,

"Sorry, its real, ma'am."

One eyebrow goes up at the ma'am, though she's used to it.

(It's the kind of name that's uttered low by men who underestimate her and find themselves on the receiving end of a Remington.)

"Son, I'm already familiar."

Sameth is from a family with two very strong and commanding women in it, he'd rather not have this woman angry at him,

"Oh, I didn't know. Then I don't have to give you the explanation?"

Oh, she won't get angry. Not unless she's got a damn good reason to be. But at the very least, she'll get suspicious.

"It's appreciated, but unnecessary."

Ellen's first instinct is to question what a child around yea-high is even doing in a place like this, but she pushes that aside.

"'Fraid it's not," she admits. "You're in Milliways, same as I am."

Her accent is Arkansas, faint and genteel. "I don't know if I'm supposed to be here," she says, dubiously.

The rules of the castle are usually self-evident; they're not written down anywhere. (She can't read, anyway.)
