Light is sitting at the bar, his arm still in a sling, eating a packet of barbacue flavour crisps.

He watches the patrons, seeing what kind of people come here, and whether or not they come close to falling down the hole.

Alucard doesn't fall down the hole though he barely seems to notice it. What he does notice is the boy sitting at the bar. He matches the description Rem gave him.

Walking over he orders a glass of blood which appears before him. "Good Evening" he greets the young man.

Alucard grins wider, "No, my Master is a human."

"And you stand for that?" Light asks, curiously.

"I have my reasons" is all that he will say on the matter.

Now he wants to know more about the boy, "I've heard from a friend that you have aspirations of becoming a monster yourself." he takes another sip of his blood.

Raised eyebrow.

"Are you going to beat me up as well? Because I can assure you that's nothing more than a rumour."

"I have no intention of harming you." he assures the boy, "Whether the rumors are true or not." Alucard is the pillar of relaxation. "Unless of course my Master were to order me to do so." he adds.

"In fact I admire your goals. As misguided as they may be." he adds, "I've seen others try." completely nonchalant.

"And what is it you think I do?" Light asks.

"Because if you've been talking to Rem, she's nuts. She beat me up for something she thinks I'm going to do in my future. But she's wrong, I'm just a student. My main concern right now is my exams."

"In that we may agree" Alucard admits, "I believe she considers me a friend which would put her sanity in question"

"Then you can advise her that her behaviour towards me was at best foolish." Light says.

"If I were a murderer, Kira, as she says, and I am to do something that causes her great pain, why antagonise me? She could easily be provoking the behaviour that has made her so angry. She needs to learn about the butterfly effect."

Alucard laughs, "She will not attempt to harm you again."

"And, I don't see what the problem is if you are a murderer or if you will become one. As long as there is purpose and control behind your actions." Yes Alucard is actually encouraging him.

Light smirks.

"If I were Kira, and I was speaking to a friend of a person who just attacked me, do you really think I'd admit it to you?"

He slicks back his hair.

"I'll humour you and answer hypothetically - if I were a murderer, of course there would be purpose and control. I'm the number one student in the country, not a random thug."

"You seem to think that I care whether you admit it or not or if you are guilty or not." Alucard points out, "I don't, Merely I find the prospect amusing."

"As I can see. Which is good. I have no respect for thoughtless dogs." he looks at Light and finds that he reminds Alucard of a young him which is perhaps why he seems to like the lad.

"Either you are a good actor, or amusement is more important to you than the albeit unnecessary distress of your friend. Can you keep her under control?"

"She has said that she will show better restraint" and part of him hopes so. part of him likes the idea of trying to keep her undercontrol. "Her display was rather unfortunate. If she was going to kill you she should have done so or if it wasn't the right opportunity then she should have had the self control to wait."

Alucard shrugs, "The distress has already befallen her. Whatever happens to you will not change that. For she seems to have also forgotten the Grandfather paradox." (aka. His amusement is more important to him)perhaps unknown to Light this is perhaps more meaningful conversaition then Alucard has had with anyone in bar....facinating.

Yes, and should she strike again, I will do everything in my power to ensure that her worst nightmares come true.

"How did you become friends?"

"I am not sure. She says that she knows a future version of myself and that we were friends." he shrugs, "I have nothing better to do here as there is nothing I am allowed to hunt."
