Tom walks in through the House of Arch painting. He's used to coming round when he can for a drink and some conversation. He's also used to being on guard while he's trying to relax. It's second nature by now! Others might not even notice the wariness!

Ah. It's Elle.

Tom is instantly discomfited. He clears his throat and hopes there won't be a train wreck. As per usual.

He nods his head in greeting.

Maybe non-verbal communication is the way to go.

He smiles. Not at her, necessarily. Just in general.

Wellard will more than likely notice the wariness and alertness- he's on guard as well.

More than likely for the same reason as Tom.

But seeing Tom tonight means that's one less letter Wellard has to write, so after putting some of his things away, he heads over.

Tom lights up when he sees the young man approach.

"Wellard, old man, how the bloody hell are you? It's been far too long."

"I'm doing well enough, considering." Wellard blinks, and manages a faint smile.

"And yourself? It has been too long, my apologies for that, and also for my reason for coming over here unfortunately has everything to do with bad news." Wryly, with an apologetic shrug.

"Ah, you heard about Blodwen Rowland's return? Or is there another piece of bad news for me?"
