X has been on the lookout for Cameron for a
since talking to Tom and Alanna
.
Which means that it does not take her long to notice the other woman's arrival in the bar.
Her condition might give another person pause, but X's mission parameters are clear.
"Cameron," she says, approach quick and not particularly stealthy.

Cameron's head drifts toward her.
"I'm looking for my family." She always speaks in something of a monotone, but now it's more pronounced. "My mother, and my brother."

John is, alas, not so observant. But he hears the familiar voices and looks up from his textbook with some annoyance--
"What the hell," he scrambles out of his seat, striding over to them. "Did you get bombed?"
He's too intent on damage to pay attention to X--or Cameron's more subtle body language.

"She killed West," X says, gaze staying fixed on Cameron.
Just in case.
"But I do not know why."

Duck exclaims, running over in a whirlwind of flailing limbs.
"Cameron! You look like you're really hurt!"

Duck is a whirlwind; Cameron, in contrast, barely moves.
Her head turns slowly.
"We were in an accident."

"You shouldn't be standing up or anything!" Duck flutters.
"There's rooms upstairs, I can get bandages and stuff - you've really gotta rest if you've been in an accident like that!"

In the same slow monotone: "I need to find them."
Her eyes land on Duck; there's no flicker of recognition. "I think they're hurt."

Well, not entirely.
Cameron stops in front of him, fixing him with a stare more vacant even than usual. Her eyes are unfocused, and a little too wide.
"I'm looking for my family."

"Who?"
She shouldn't be moving like that, with those injuries.
A normal human shouldn't.

"My mother, and my brother."
She usually speaks in a blank-faced monotone, but usually there's evidence of something behind the mask -- an intelligence, if not a particular expressive intelligence.
Not now.
"I need to find them."
