"We talking baseball, or softball? And how are you fixed for first basemen?" Yes. Believe it or not, Knox can play first base. Although in the way that he can stand on the base and catch the ball well.

"Baseball," Castiel confirms with a nod.

"We do not have positions yet," he adds.

"Do you play?"

The man talks like someone who has played before. The teams are open to anyone, but Castiel thinks it might be good to have some people on them who have experience.

"Anyone ever tell you you sound like Jack Webb?" Which isn't a bad thing. Knox likes old TV shows.

"I usually play softball. But I can go back to baseball. It's not that different." Except for the size of the ball, and the difficulty of hitting it, and how much more it hurts to be hit by the ball.

"No," Castiel replies.

"I do not know a Jack Webb."

He nods.

"Overhand pitch versus underhand."

This sums up most of what Castiel knows about the differences between the two sports.

Arnold sees the bright signs. (It's hard not to.)

Arnold reads them.

Arnold's face transforms.

When he approaches Castiel, his whole face is covered by a gigantic grin. "I didn't know you played baseball, Mr. Castiel!" Beat. "Can I sign up?"

Castiel has to lean forward over the table just a little bit to see Arnold.

"Hello, Arnold. No, I have not played before. But I wished to learn. Meg said I needed people to play with."

"And yes," he adds, sliding a pen and the sign-up sheet into easy reach. "You may sign up. We need people to play."

"Never?..." Arnold looks positively shocked. "You'll love it, it's the greatest game ever! If you need any pointers you can just ask me, okay?"

Arnold eagerly puts his name on the sheet. He loves baseball.

"I shall do so," Castiel replies, seriously. "I will need to practice. I have watched baseball, but not played."

"Have you played baseball for a long time?"
