After discussing the situation with Mike and getting his approval, Alanna spends the morning clearing out her flat and writing notes. One note in particular gives her a headache, and she stops by Bar for coffee before posting the average looking piece of paper with larger than normal handwriting high on the bar notice board. It reads:

Patrons of ( Read more... )

Tom writes back to Alanna immediately upon receipt of his letter.

Alanna,
Although I have not done something like this, I trust I shall not fail you. The comparative safety here is important to me as much as any other Security member. I think I shall make a base of sorts in the Security office itself, in order to lend authority to the proceedings, but I am sure your flat can be of use, as well.

--Tom

Then he heads for the Security office. Thankfully it's quiet in the Underside just now. He has a feeling he'll be spending more time than usual at Milliways for the time being.

En route to more mango smoothie, Buffy stops to read the note, and frowns.

He knows the name of who's been killed, but that means very little to him. Names can be changed or never known at all. For instance, he's never heard of West Rosen before this whole incident began. It doesn't mean he hasn't met the person.

In fact, it seems rather likely he has, given that his scent was in the area.

It makes for a broody, scowling werewolf.

River does not like this at all. Not the situation, not the way it has everyone in the bar on edge, and certainly not the way it has soured her mate's demeanour.

She stands beside him reading the note, shifting her weight from foot to foot, almost on the edge of pacing. If she had hackles, they'd be up.

I wonder what they plan to do if they catch someone.

The thought that it might be a werewolf kill has not left her mind.

If they follow past examples, time in the cells. Perhaps a light sentence for most patrons, a werewolf who has issues with moving walls might find that a tad torturous.

Then again, no one's ever died before, he adds grimly.

Then he gives her a bump because he needs to.

She returns the bump, needing the contact just as much as he does. Her concern runs deeper than that. Time in the cells would be unpleasant, but there are worse fates.

I heard something about the head of security teleporting someone back to their world at the same point they entered.

He's wandering outside in his usual aimless fashion when he sees the note on the bulletin board, and his eyes narrow.

He leaves one of his own:

Alanna -

I'll be glad to help in any way I can. Long as it doesn't count as 'business,' of course. Maybe we can bend the rules in this case.

Raguel's note makes her smile, as much for the fact that he wrote it as its content.

Raguel-

We'd be happy to have your help. In this case, yes, such rules can be bent. We should talk, about this and other things. It has been a long time.

Everything we have about the murder is in the office. Feel free to have a look.
