Not even to Axel?

"Yo, Roxas," he calls, raising a hand in greeting. The sight of him still sends an odd clenching feeling through his heart, but he's going to try to be... normal.

"If we go up that way, we can get a good view," Axel suggests, pointing up and off to the side a little.

He doesn't say anything. He just moves that way.

"How have you been?" he asks, after a while.

[lockitwithkeys]

"Dumb question to ask a Nobody."

[killitwith_fire]

"Not really."

But he doesn't say anything else.

It was slightly more polite than I don't want to tell you. Roxas feels he did good.

He doesn't want to hear about Demyx so he doesn't ask the same of Axel.

Roxas is still more important than Demyx.

"What about there?"

It's a broad ledge, sheer cliff, view of most of the grounds.

"Sure." he heads over to the edge and sits down - leaving plenty of space between himself and the Somebody with his friend's face and memories.

Axel flops down on the ledge, legs dangling off the side, same distance as always between them.

Roxas scoots away a little bit. "You're real. It's uncomfortable." He shouldn't have to tell Axel that and it makes him frown.

"Sorry. Habits are hard to break."

Physical habit, even, ingrained in his body.

Roxas shrugs "It's still uncomfortable. I'm useless here."

"You're not doing any real good back there, either," Axel says quietly. "I'd tell you if you want me to."

[lockitwithkeys]

"Does it matter? You said I die if I go back."

[killitwith_fire]

"Yeah," Axel affirms. "You do. Can you blame me if I don't want that to happen?"
