Cubefall, day 2

May 28, 2009 12:51

There is a dragon outside!

It's a small dragon, which is to say, it's about the height of a tall human... at the shoulder. It is just flying in from the mountains, gliding (mostly) majestically over the trees.

Come admire his reptilian grace! Ask for a ride, if you're not too heavy!

Or bring him some food. That would be very welcome, too.

Annabelle is trying to get the hang of her new zappy powers at the moment.

There is a flash of light and a *crack* of thunder as a small tree explodes in a hail of splinters. This would be a lot more impressive if Annabelle hadn't been aiming for the large rock about 3 feet to the left. The miss has Annabelle scowling and swearing fit to, metaphorically at least, strip paint.

"Sometimes things are different colors and sometimes it's all in grey-scale. You're a bright white in the center and bluish around the edges right now..."

Enzo considers. He is a dragon... "Think that's heat?"

"I think it must be," Annabelle says. "I look a bit like that myself, though I'm not such a bright white toward the center."

"That's 'cause you don't breathe fire." Beat. "Do you?"

"I...don't think so?" Annabelle replies. Annabelle attempts to breathe fire to absolutely no effect whatsoever. "Apparently not," Annabelle says, relieved.

"Good. Then you'd be competition."

"Feh, lightning will get them just as dead as fire," Annabelle says with a grin.

"Too bad Dani hasn't accessed her ice-powers yet. Then we'd have the set."

FIRAGA!

"Dani has ice powers?"

THUNDAGA! Oh Final Fantasy 8, so many hours of level grinding that I'll never get back...

"Not yet, unless she accessed them since last time I saw her. But Danny does, so she should, too. Well, cold-powers, really, but mostly that means ice. They're in there somewhere, 'cause her breath goes cold whenever she senses a ghost nearby."

"That's an unusual manifestation," Annabelle replies. "Cold powers could be very useful...." Then she remembers Enzo's mention that he can become a half-ghost, "Doesn't that mean that you would also have ice powers when you're in your half-ghost form?"

"Someday, I guess. Belar and Garion scanned the template from Dani. But I can't even do the Ghostly Wail yet." He pauses, remembering something from one of Danny's stories. "Only I think that's supposed to initialize even later, unless something boots it up early. So maybe I'll get the cold boot first."

(The mun takes a bow for that horrible and strained pun, because it's obscure enough that people might not recognize it as such otherwise. :-P)

(It's a shame that Annabelle isn't from an era where she'd recognize the pun. I admit that I didn't get it until you pointed it out.)

"Ghostly wail? I don't think you've mentioned that before."

(The mun rests her case.)

"Dude, didn't I?" Enzo is astonished, and a little excited. "It's her latest, she only accessed it 'cause we were saving Danny and she was really desperate. And mad. She just screamed and..." He sighs hotly. "I'd heard his before, but... still. It was... really amazing. It hurt a little, and I was behind her. The ghosts in front of her just went flying."

"That's impressive," Annabelle says with a grin. "It sounds like it would be good to have if you needed to clear an area in a hurry."
