Demeter loves the idea of Cubefall, change, rebirth and new growth in all its many forms.

One of the choices presented to her catches her attention greatly, it reminds her of something Heph might have made. Also because she loves the idea of it so much, she asked Bar to provide her an image that is currently leaning on the legos ( Read more... )

"Your flower pot is 10.25 inches tall and has a diameter of 13 inches," says a robot from the bar, small enough to sit in Demeter's hands.

"Happy Cubefall, Demeter."

Mia starts making stacks of blocks, building up one as tall as she can before making another. Once she has four like this, she makes a small staircase for herself and continues to work.

"This is fun!" Mia says. "It's work when you're so small, but it's fun work."

"I'm glad, there's something wonderful about making something."

"I think so, too. That's one of the reasons why I like to cook."

She sits down on her steps. It's weird that she isn't getting tired, not the same way people do.

"I just came back from a family fishing trip and Mama and I had to prepare all of the fish for cooking. Draco and Uncle Rabastan weren't too keen on messing with the scales."

"That must have been wonderfully tasty though. How many fish did you catch?"

"At least five a day. We had to for my uncle's sake, as we ate what we caught and Rabastan eats plenty. We still managed to catch enough to bring some home to preserve for later."

Mia gets back to work building the blocks.

"Oh that does sound wonderful."

Demeter has constructed a pretty decent pulley system and lift at this point.

"We went to Lann, where there's a lot of fish. The current there is strong, so the fish are strong and tasty. Lann fish is one of my favorite things to eat. I'm glad we've managed to save a lot."

Things are starting to look good, just about read to put together.

"Yes, and when you eat them later, you'll remember that trip."

Or get sick and think it's the fish's fault. But that will come later.

"We'll be going on another holiday soon. Draco has missed Earth terribly. He hasn't been there in three years. We're going to go visit his childhood home in Wiltshire next week."

"That should be beautiful, England has some wonderful gardens."

"Draco has told me that the gardens of his home have peacocks roaming about."

"I know. I can't wait."

Mia's built her blocks as high as she can get them. Which isn't very high since she's so small.

"We've thought about seeing his parents while we're there. While he hasn't been to Earth in three years, it's been even longer since he's seen his parents. In fact, it had to have been over four years ago since he last saw them at our wedding. I know he really misses them and it hurts me to see him without them."

"Then I'm sure you'll find a way to spend time with them. I know they would enjoy it, every parent loves to see their children."

"We also want to give their old home back," she says. "The one we're going to visit. It was taken from them after the war Draco and I fought in. Since then, we've saved up money to buy it back. We want to pass ownership to them at the end of our holiday."
