Tower sips his scotch, sighs, and says, "There is not an invisible elephant sitting on this table, is there?"

Moon shakes her head.

"Not that I can see."

And if there was someone to see an invisible elephant, it would be her.

"Why? Do you see it?"

"There is the mini-one," Star said, settling a domino to rest with one finger. "It is in a room, but it is not this one."

"I'm thinking that was supposed to be a metaphor.

Unless there's something other than tobacco in that cigar."

Demeter eyes them all warily as she holds herself with all her pride and dignity, she is after all one of another group of twelve,

"If the Fates walk in next, I think I may have to leave."

"Fates are too busy," Moon murmurs. "We're not."

She looks around the table.

"Are we?"

Star, with long loops of golden-white curls, who hadn't looked up yet at all, hummed softly Twinkle Twinkle Little Star while placing down dominoes before her crosses legs.

"Seems like a 'no' to me."

She smiles at Demeter. "Care to sit?"

Jason is sitting in his booth, still looking for Ramon or Scarlet.

And yes, he just noticed the table full of people. He knows several of them, and it certainly sits uneasily in his stomach.

...he wonders maybe if Moon's siblings were right: Moon doesn't look too terribly happy...

Mary Anne knows that this many of the tarot in one place are an attention getter, so she doesn't pay that much notice to just everyone staring. But she also didn't see just everyone buying drugs off Ramon the other day.

She meets Jason's eyes and lifts her head, with a small wave by way of acknowledgment.

Moon feels him as she often does.

She tries to resist looking over there, tugging at her hair, at her skirt, fidgeting and shifting.

Finally, she lifts her eyes, holding Jason's for what seems like a small eternity but couldn't be more than a few seconds, and then she looks away, her heart racing and her stomach knotted.

Star looked up from her task, hand in her lap. Her own gaze of piercing light straying only from the table to her sisters face as she watched her wolf from as far across room as the sky and the land.

She tossed a domino toward The Moon.

It skittered to a bouncing halt on the table before her.

He's been in the bar since yesterday. And he's been bored. But this...this promises to be entertaining.

He watches from close by for a short time, then can't suppress a laugh.

'I could find you all an elephant, if you like? You could find your perfect excuse a reality.'

"Morning star," there is the ring of the Twinkle Twinkle tune still in her voice, even when her eyes don't raise from her task at hand.

The next domino, a black one sets into the pattern.

There is the edge of smile that can be seen.

"You could bring a better gift."

He inclines his head to her briefly.

'I bring myself. It's gift enough.'

"He always was a cocky bastard," Ruin mutters before taking another swig off his beer.

Teja sees them, and leans on a column to observe.

Four he knows; three of the women, not. He wonders if he should approach one of them, when this moment of tension is past, to innocently ask for her opinion, and the cards she might draw.

Moon's eyes dart up.

She offers Teja a watery smile.

"The king watches," she whispers.

"He needs an invitation," Star said, nodding, golden curls falling on the tops of her dominoes but managing never to stir them.

Mary Anne glances from sister to sister and does not roll her eyes.

"Hey there!" she calls, waving Teja over.
