First Entry!

May 13, 2009 12:06

Cleopatra, being her young, impetuous self, has decided to take a break from ruling Egypt.  She's managed to open a door to Milliways from sheer determination to get out of the palace and not have to worry (as much) about anyone trying to kill her.

So, she's walking into the Bar, looking like sex made flesh, and is looking for a drink.

Ben looks up from his gaming magazine, raising a brow at the dark-skinned beauty. "Hi."

Cleopatra arches an eyebrow at the strangely dressed young man.

"That is no way to speak to the Queen of all Egypt." She says, with a hint of amusement in her voice.

"Well, the moment you crossed the magic portal just behind you, you left the lands of Egypt, oh Queen." he might be joking some. "I am Knight Winchester of Twili, Physician in Training, Star-warrior."

Worse part, he is all those indeed. "Have a seat?" If the bravado and the way of smiling ever seem familiar to her, it is because he learned it from a roman.

"I am Queen and Isis made flesh no matter where I go, and must be treated as such."

She pauses and looks the young man over.

"You have the bearing of men I have known."

Momiji is actually a tad too distracted by his own drink - a strawberry milkshake, yum - to actually talk, just yet. But he's always eager to greet new folks, so he does offer an energetic wave and a smile around the bendy straw he's sipping from.

Finally, though, he finishes with the frosted glass (for the moment) and pushes it back, announcing in his usual, chipper tone: "Hiya!"

Because, really, if you're not going to talk to strangers in a bar like this, you'll never meet anyone.

Cleopatra frowns. This is a colorful young man.

"I am Queen Cleopatra, Ruler of Upper and Lower Egypt, and Isis made flesh."

Momiji is all about colorful!

"...Really?"

But that introduction makes him blink quite a bit, nevertheless, both because it's awfully sudden and, well...Cleopatra?

(He's not even sure what to make of all this Isis stuff!)

"Er, I'm Momiji Sohma! I'm just a high school student...nice to meet you?"

He has no idea how one's supposed to introduce oneself to ancient royalty.

Cleopatra, being around 18 in her world, would probably find it extremely rude that he thinks of her as ancient.

"Yes...really. What is high school?"

There is an stately-looking white cat perched on the bar, watching the newcomer with bright green eyes.

Cleopatra...likes cats. Goes with the territory. Though, it'd be undignified to try to entice the cat. She is Queen, after all.

It would be merely offering up due respect, the cat would feel. It holds eye-contact with her, wondering if she's going to do anything. He's seen many of those who are new-come to the bar stand blocking the door for quite some time before they remember themselves.

Cleo finally shakes herself and sits in the nearest seat. Not exactly royal seating, but it'll do for now.

Her eyes haven't left the cat staring at her.

In Flynn's experience at Milliways, people who are usually dressed as though they're from ancient Egypt are typically from ancient Egypt - unless Bar's been giving people's outfits a changing.

And, if her outfit is any indication, she's definitely a member of royalty - or at least someone up in the higher ranks.

He's a little rusty in his Demotic, but he's pretty sure he remembers enough to try and communicate.

"[Greetings, and welcome to Milliways.]"

Cleopatra quirks at the language, and arches a beautifully sculpted eyebrow.

"[Thank you for the most proper welcome I have encountered all day. I am Queen Cleopatra, Ruler of Upper and Lower Egypt, Isis made flesh.]"

One can tell she takes a huge amount of pride in her introduction and titles.

The fact that she can speak Demotic with someone in a place such as this...is always amusing.

Not only does she have a high title, it's the highest title of the age, really, and Flynn does his best not to trip over his tongue, choosing his words carefully.

"[Forgive me, your Majesty. I was unaware of whom I was speaking to. It is an honor to meet you in person; I had only read stories of your beauty.]"

He smiles awkwardly.

Cleo nods in approval for his tiny bit of fawning. She is used to being the most beautiful, but it's always appropriate to serve up more compliments.

"[It is no slight for you to not know me in such a place, though I must ask about these stories...and whom I am speaking to.]"

She is hoping her brother hasn't sent assassins here too. That...would just take the fun out of getting out of the palace.

Now here's something Nikola hasn't seen before in Milliways. (And he's always up for new experiences.)

So, Cleopatra, there may be a tall, slender vampire eying you from his chair by the fire.

There's always a vampire of some sort eying Cleopatra; she's grown up that way.

She, completely conscious of the eyes, lets the gauzy material of her skirt re-arrange itself as she crosses her legs.

The look Nikola is giving her gets distinctly hungrier, and perhaps a bit more feral as she moves, and it's just tempting enough to lure him from his chair.

"It's a terribly shame to see a such a beautiful woman sitting alone," he says, leaning casually on the bar next to her.

Yes, it's a line he's used here before. It's also one he'll probably use again.

"Is there not a precedent for one to sit...alone?"

She is more referring to her situation back home than her current location. If only her brother would just...die.

She watches him, with a smirk. If there's one thing she knows how to do, it's play with men.
