(After spending a relatively long amount of time around his family, Michael Bluth found it a great relief to be in Milliways once more. Feeling the need to stretch his legs following a particularly odd encounter -

Cuddy hasn't seen Michael since that time she tended at the bar, but she happens to look up from her pile of papers and sees a stair car pass by outside.

Curiosity dictates that she should go out and investigate.

Which she does.

When the stair car rolls by to make its second lap around the lake, a hand sticks out of the window to wave in Cuddy's general direction.

"Happy April Fool's Day!" Michael shouts.

"I would stop, but it takes at least a block for this thing to stop properly, and I didn't see you until I was about half a block away."

(What Michael did not realize was that the last half of his sentence would be largely inaudible thanks to the growing distance as he kept driving - or rather, braking - in the stair car.)

In a few more moments, the stair car has backed up sufficiently so that, once Michael jumps out, walking over to talk to Cuddy doesn't take that much time.

"Hey! Long time no see!"

She tries to hide her amusement, but come on. It's a stair car.

"What was that?" Cuddy calls out, trying to catch the end of his sentence, but he's gone before she can hear the rest.

For a minute, she thinks he won't stop, but the brake lights light up.

"I was about to say the same," she replies. "How've you been?"

"Not bad," Michael responds, after a moment's hesitation.

"I mean, what with my family, we're practically doing good. How're you?"

Ben's just left the stables; he's cutting through the yard on his way back to the b--

"The hell."

Steps. On wheels.

Cruising the back yard.

He'll move to one side before the -- whatever that is -- mows him down on its next circle.

Michael, for his part, yells, very loudly:

"Hop on!"

(It would be the first and last time that Michael Bluth ever offered this to anyone.)

Ben blinks.

He knows he didn't just hear --

But maybe he did.

And the thing's closer now, and there's a hand-rail that's gotta be there for a --

He hops on.

(And nearly tumbles off when he makes a grab for his hat, but he and the hat remain intact and upright.)

This is --

Goddamn, it's a little bit fun.

It's a lot nicer when you invite people to hop on rather than feeling completely unexpected impact when one goes by an overpass.

"You alright?" he calls, in the general direction of the stairs.
