There is a little grey kitten roaming the bar today.

There is a grim dark Goth by the fireplace as well, but he is much less noticeable than the small grey feline wandering around the bar and sniffing for anything edible, preferably with fish in it.

Kitties are much more interesting than weeding. Lærke hasn't heard about her teacher's disappearance, but she had known that she was going to live with Uncle Jason, so she isn't overly concerned today.

So a little girl in light skirts is stalking the small kitten, oblivious to anyone around her. This includes grim dark Goths that she might bump into on her mission.

Oh, a small human!

Small humans usually mean skritches, cuddles, games, and possibly food.

Count turns to rub his cheek on the small human's ankles.

And he is snatched up. Lærke may know that you shouldn't pick up strange kitties, but...well, she's a little girl.

"Hello kitty! You are too small to be in a tavern alone. Where is your mother?"

She may crane her neck to look around for the possibility of a SECOND kitty around.

There are two more, on the windowsill near the back door, but they're not going to come and save Count unless he cries for help.

Which he doesn't. Being hugged by a small human is good! He cuddles against her and purrs. Skritches!! Er, please!

Charlie gives an absent pat to the little kitten's head as he crosses the bar from the door that has recently reappeared. He's been moving things into boxes in his apartment, getting closer to actually moving across the island.

The man belonging to said kitten--there is no doubt in Charlie's mind that the cat is the owner of the human, having been present at him waking up at somewhere around four AM to feed it--gets a smile and a moderately tired kiss on the cheek, and a recently showered human companion.

Teja puts an arm around him from where he is sitting, drawing him close.

"You look tired and smell of soap, hultha," he says. "You must have been working hard enough to wish to clean yourself afterwards! You should have coffee and kisses, to revive you!"

"I do tend to want a shower when I get sweaty, yes." He leans his head against Teja's shoulder tiredly. "I didn't know I had as much stuff as I do, to put in boxes."

At least he smells like soap, and not the alternative.

"Thady, bring coffee for my Charlie," Teja says, certain that the waitrat is nearby.

It's the pale rat, though, Phelim, who brings the coffee, and he looks slightly offended at being called by his colleague's name.

"So you have already started to pack everything up, in preparation of moving," Teja says to Charlie, settling the two of them comfortably, curled around each other. "That is hard work. Men have so many things, in the future, when all is machine-made, and all may have many books, many sheets, and cupboards filled with the best clear glass!"
