River finds herself a place at the bar proper, a Guinness at her elbow and a good book under her hands, something light and entertaining.  The Comedies of Agrillanos (Earth, circa 4100)  are just the thing to counteract too much research.  That and a good view of the dart boards.  She loves watching a heated game of cricket.

Wells doesn't come much to the Bar these days, as he's busy at home and hasn't much got the time for it now. Between training the girls at the Academy and working on the farm (when it's not Spoon or Annie or someone else dealing with farming issues), and the mandatory three days a month when he's no good to anyone- well, skiving off to the Bar just doesn't happen much any more.

It comes up once in a while, though, especially when he's not paying attention, which is why the stool next to Dr. Song shortly winds up occupied. "Evenin', miss," he says politely before turning to the Bar. "Oi, can I get a pint of Bass over here?"

River looks up from her book and gives him her typical easy smile. "Hallo."

She hasn't quite pegged all the dialects here in the bar, but his strikes a chord. "Do I hear a hint of Yorkshire?"

"Good ear, that," says Wells. "The wife and me moved up there from Islington a few years back now. Picked it up from the neighbours. Don't think I can quite peg yours, though..."

"No, I don't 'spect you could. Outer reaches, 51st century. Dr. River Song."

She offers her hand in greeting.

She's a lot smaller than Ryan, but she agrees with that run idea. Or agreed, anyway, the run's over now.

Now's time to bounce back into the bar for hot cocoa.

"Heya River." Ace replies lazily once she's fetched her cocoa, flopping carefully into a nearby chair. "Been busy?"

River coughs into her beer. "Um, yes. Yes you could say that." Classy, River.

"I met Ray Stantz and he's offered to have a look at that insufferable sonic screwdriver the Doctor left with me. Trying to work out how the neural connection works."

"And you? How's things?"
