The Force is in all things; regardless of ability to feel it, it is in us and around us. Even mundane actions of the basest creatures can create detectable ripples in the Force. A mynock beating its wings on the plains could cause a sandstorm in the desert. And figuratively speaking, Jedi have much bigger wings. Many would not willingly give up ( Read more... )

Kira hardly comes into Milliways often anymore. Her life is a whirlwind of children and silly neighborhood functions that Tula drags her to, wondering where her husband is, trying not to jinx herself back into sickness, too much to worry about why the Bar hasn't shown up lately ( ... )

"Exile," Kreia replies quietly, and it's a ragged thing, each breath drawing new pain from the still-fresh wound.

She never did like to show weakness in front of her apprentices, and certainly not the Exile, in whom all her hopes for the galaxy were placed. But now that time is over, and there's not a thing she can do about her state. This place drew her here for a reason, and one she is not privy too, even if she was not blinded by pain.

And yet, she manages another echo from Malachor V, the planet that claimed so many lives: "It is done."

Her lips purse at the use of the moniker and her hand drops, limply, to her side. Kreia's presence here has shaken her, worried her, confused her...but she recognizes the words (she never forgot the things the old woman said).

"Yes." Kira murmurs, chewing on her lip. "It is."

"You have moved on." It is merely an observation, and not in the least reproachful. "And now the life of one strong in the Force grows within you. Tell me, dearest Exile - how do the Jedi react to such a thing?"

Atton stares.

Reaches for a weapon.

Stares.

Flatly: "I was wondering when you'd show up."

There is no standing tall for Kreia now, nor hiding weakness. She is wounded, and that is something she cannot change.

She looks up at him, dead eyes covered by her hood. "And I was wondering whether you would once again have the courage to speak to me." She is quiet for a moment, feeling. Even if he does block his mind, the Force speaks to her and tells her the stories of the present. "Were you truly - was it out of some misplaced need for validation? Or merely because you have grown weary of the life of a Jedi?"

"Was I truly what?"

"Waiting, of course." Her tone remains the same detached thing that it always has been with him, but she gives the impression of being slightly bored.

(It is mostly a front, used with him.)
