The door opens on a wrecked and tumbledown scene, but it often does where Ellen is concerned. It's just a different set of wreckage behind her this time. When the door closes she heads over to the Bar to get a Nuka-Cola and something to eat; before the food can appear she remembers something and heads upstairs to the Bar library.
She comes downstairs with a copy of E. O. Wilson's The Ants, and only then claims her food. Anyone who wants to talk to her is free to do so, because there isn't a dang thing in the whole dang book that even comes close to what she's trying to look for.
