MC drifts up, "Maybe try the miso?" he suggests, "Or, wait, I said I'd order things and let you take a taste, didn't I? Hi, Ellen."

"The miso soup probably won't be a bad idea," Ellen decides. "Hi, MC. How have you been?"

"Pretty good. I started learning swords." he's a little embarrassed, "It's interesting, but tough. Here." he offers her a spoonful of miso to try. "How have you been, yourself?"

The miso soup's pretty good; Ellen requests a bowl of her own from the Bar. "It's been kind of busy at home," she says. "There was someone who wanted me dead. That was kind of a surprise."

Tanya had a whole day to recover from the morning breakdown. Time to sleep, time to hydrate herself, and to get de-hangovered.

That is why she is downstairs to get a meal, with all the energy of someone who gave up on all romantic illusions. "Hello, Ellen. How are you?"

"Oh- hello, Tanya," says Ellen, who's opted for a variation on breakfast. There's more than one meat animal that'll fit on a stick. "Better than I was last night. How about yourself?"

"I am well." No, she is not, but she is not going to bother Ellen with her emotional drama: the girl has real problems to worry about. "Going back home tomorrow: have a field mission against the Reds."
