Whistler originally had an entrance post about Thanksgiving and looking after Mother rather than going to Akron, but LJ ate the damn thing. This is the second time it's happened today, so you have been warned

Jingle, jingle. Suzi heads in after him, eventually, and drifts toward his table, "Hello, Whistler. How's it going?"

"I'm done with the studying now." Suzi points out, leaning up to kiss his cheek, "And this is the best citizenship present ever. You're amazing, Whistler."

"Yeeeeah, I'll have to come up with some other kind of study time," Whistler says. "I'm not objecting, you understand. Glad you approve, really."

"I can learn more things." Suzi points out, "I plan on continuing to learn. And there will be times that I'm not around, once I have a store."

"Okay then. More room for plotting and scheming on my part. You know I only encourage Mother to take attention away from myself."

"I may have gotten a little bit of an idea." Suzi agrees, laughing, "What's up your sleeve now?"

"I've been hearing some interesting things about adapting house electrical wiring to handle telephone signals without having to install an additional cable," says Whistler. "Sounds like the kind of thing I could have a lot of fun with, if it actually works."

"Ooo." Suzi grins, "It does. Are you going to try to have our apartment wired like that?"

"Maybe. It depends on how reliable it is. If we have to rewire the whole place just to get something that comes through clearly, it might be more trouble than it's worth."

"Mm, true." Suzi says, "I don't think Joy would like it if we had rewiring going on all around her."

"There might be a simpler way to work it out, anyway," says Whistler. "I'm just getting started on the subject. I should have a better idea in a few days, I think..."

"I'll ask again then." Suzi says very firmly, "I don't want to push, obviously, but it sounds like fun."
