April follows, a bit bemused, by all accounts. "At least it was a curable zombie infection?" she offers as she comes in. She doesn't know how long its been, but... well, it's obviously been a while.

Her head's ringing a bit, but that's probably just a side-effect of the cure, right?

The Doctor shrugs. "Best kind, wouldn't you say?"

April grins a little. "In real life, definitely. Of course, if this was a movie or a book, it'd be a total cop-out 'happy ending', but real life is so not fiction."

The narration is snickering at the irony.

[thedoctorwho]

"Oh, I dunno. I had a friend here once who had a really interesting theory that what's real in one universe might be someone else's fiction in another."

Teja has overheard, also.

"Gas mask?" he asks the stranger, when most of the others that would speak to him are gone. It is a word he has heard, and remembers very well.

"That would not be about the little brother of a young girl called Nancy?"

"It would be, yes. But it's all right now. Little Jamie is back to his old self, and everyone he affected is fine, too."

He doesn't mention the part about Jamie not really being her brother -- it's not his secret to tell.

"She will be very happy," Teja says. "I have seen her despair, and rail against his death!"

"I think it'll all work out for them now. War's nearly over for them, too. Brand new day dawning, and all that."
