...Nonetheless, drink. Drink deep, and indulge your gift.Such is as Vorador obliged me to do when I first encountered him, in his mansion hidden in the depths of that dark and dank grave, the Termogent Forest. Much had changed since those fateful days... but my thirst for blood had not waned. Nay, I was still young, not yet a creature of the ages. ( Read more... )

How strange--the feeling of a being that is not, in fact, strictly a being. It is not quite the same as others I have met that are not quite people, but rather perhaps more interesting.

I swirl the blood in my goblet before taking another swig, and glance at this being. I say nothing, yet; my unfettered existence in this place is too precious to allow myself to indulge my more malevolent qualities.

I never was very interested in conversing casually.

"Greetings... Xaldin, was it?" I reply, seeing the being that has no being. "I fear I must apologize for our past encounter... being here, reading, has given me much perspective on my life."

"Apology accepted." Xaldin says quietly, "This place seems to change Somebodies."

"Yes... it does. Something about the interactions, the ability to gain knowledge from outside one's world.

"But you, then, do not change? Even the gaining of experiences and knowledge does not alter who you are?"
