Elda is sitting by the fireplace, reading a book. This would be a normal scene anywhere on a cool evening.
To make it a normal scene at Milliways, the teenage girl would have to be a griffin the size of a draft horse, who is in fact studying an ancient looking grimoire.
Luckily, she is.
Also, she's on duty, her Security badge prominently

It's rude to stare. Jacen knows this, because his mother has told him several times. Even when you've never seen a species before, you have to be polite. And Jacen is definitely polite.
"'Scuse me," he says, peering at Elda over the back of another chair. "What planet are you from?"
Totally polite!

"It has several names, depending on who you ask. I'm told it's quite like Earth, if you know it."
She pauses. "I doubt we come from anywhere near each other. My planet is the only one in my system with people on it, and we...don't travel between them, really." Only by accident.
[OOC: Err, sorry for the shifty response there. Her canon never actually NAMES THE PLANET.]

"I've heard of Earth," he decides, "but I don't know much about it. I think it's in a different galaxy -- yours probably is, too, because everyone has space travel in my galaxy, even the Adumarians, and I've never seen anyone like you before."
The last part is said in a mildly apologetic tone.
[ooc: *wry* sorry to be awkward!]

Elda giggles. "It's all right. Even here not many people have met someone like me before. I'm a griffin. My name is Elda. What's yours?"
[OOC: No worries!]
