The door of the bar opens, and a young woman with dark hair and a patchwork skirt steps through. This was, given the expression on her face, not exactly the place she was expecting to step through, though that's not exactly a surprise to anyone who knows Milliways

If it's been a year and a half for April, it's been eleven and a half, for Monk.

Still, there's absolutely no mistaking that voice, and he doesn't hesitate for one second in turning around and greeting her with an absolutely shocked (and happy) expression.

"April!"

She's still a bit in shock, but she looks over at the sound of her name and just lights up. She squeals a little and runs over to pounce him, hugging him tightly.

"Oh my god, Adrian! God. I'm back. I didn't think I was gonna get back! But here I am! OH!" She pulls back a little, grinning widely. "Do you have any idea how nice it is to be corporeal again? I couldn't touch anything, it was so annoying."

"I remember getting a note," Monk says, returning the hug with a squeeze. "But I didn't know what happened. I haven't seen you in so long - "

And he never forgot her. He even told Natalie about her!

"I got stuck. Door wouldn't show up or anything." She might be clinging just a teensy bit. "God it's good to be back. I missed you!"

And Adrian gets a kiss on the cheek. Because she really did miss him!
