He looks up at the young woman and smiles. "Good evening, miss," he says, instinctively adopting her formal phrasing. Social camouflage: one of the many tricks Cal was taught for a successful political career, and one that can kick in without his even noticing.

She smiles artlessly and the tiny planet bobs against her fingers on the bar surface.
"I'm sorry, can we get you anything else?"
She looks down at the little orb.
"Don't be pushy, you little brat."

"Voluntarily picking up the slack, or did Bar rope you into this?"

She looks pleased to see her sister's sometime companion.
"No, I came in for a cup of coffee and more paper and there was no one here and... the planets thought it would be fun. Like a game. Can we pour you something?"

He gestures at the requested bottle of Kentucky bourbon where it sits on the shelf behind her. More often than not, he's only too happy to watch a temp bartender search fruitlessly through the wines and other liquors in order to find his quirky whiskey orders. It's a rite of passage. But in this case he decides to be helpful, since she's sort of like family. Sort of.
"You never know these days. Seems like whenever Bar fancies a nap, she recruits the nearest punter into serving for her."

"Does she take naps more than she used to? Has anyone looked into diseases, like mono? Anyway, when my sisters have parties, I usually end up tending bar, since I'm not quite as... social? as they are. I don't mind, you get to meet everybody when you work behind the bar."

They are also night and day - Rai with her blacks and silvers, Medusa with golden wings and rich, vibrant colours. But, still, the Gorgon smiles at her.
"I didn't know you were here."
