Where there's smoke... [Azula EP!]

The door does not blow off it's hinges.

That would be, in a word, gauche. There is the faint waft of smoke up from the bottom of it however, before it swings open and a young woman (barely more than a girl but still dressed neck to toe in armor fit for war) steps through. Her sharp aristocratic features might bear a familial resemblance to someone ( Read more... )

"Who, or what, is Zuzu?"

Malu is sitting at the bar, enjoying a bite of supper with Nhia at her feet. The shepherd mix growls a little, and Malu drops a hand to the dog's head. "Easy, Nhia."

Oh, you can bet Azula notices the clothing, the coloring. Have I wandered into the Spirit World somehow? she wonders, taking a careful step towards the inquiring girl, her smile never wavering.

"'Zuzu' is my dear brother, Zuko. I could have sworn I saw him come this way right before I ended up here." She smiles a little at the dog, but doesn't get too close to it. "Adorable animal, what kind is it?"

In a sense, Azula, yes.

Malu smothers a laugh at learning Zuko's childhood nickname. She could have fun with it, if she wanted to risk being burned that was. "He probably did, but this place caught you by surprise when you tried to follow him. It likes to do that.

"She's a dog; a...Rottweiler and German Shepherd mix." Malu hesitates on the breed, trying to remember what the woman she had gotten Nhia from had said.

Well, so far no attacks, and in fact the girl seemed more at ease now, especially at the mention of Zuko. Hmmm, has big brother been making allies she should know about?

"A... dog?" not a sealdog? Or a cranedog? Just a ... dog? Well. "I've never seen one before, but it is rather cute. Is it a native animal to this place?"

"What is a Zuzu?"

Mary thinks it's a stupid name.

"Zuzu is my big brother, child." (Nevermind that she's only got two, maybe three years on Mary)

Azula thinks it's a rather suitable name for Zuko.

She also doesn't think her perception of the nickname and Mary's perception of the nickname are mutually exclusive.

"You are not so much older than me," Mary says, stung.

"Did you lose him? I have never met anyone called Zuzu here."

"His name is Zuko. Scar over one eye, dour personality most of the time." Azula gives by way of explanation. She gives Mary a second glance at her protest then shrugs a little. "Hm, I suppose you're right."

...And Axel can't help but notice her, as he comes in through the back door. Fire. (There are, it occurs to him, a lot of fire people in Milliways.)

Fire Nation to be specific; he recognises that style of armour.

"Looking for someone?"

((ooc: *couldn't resist*))

Of course there's a lot of fire people in Milliways. It is the best element, is it not? It makes sense that the universe would provide more of them.

She gives Axel a critical once-over. He's not a child (thank goodness, she's had her fill of them, far more used to conversing with the aged generals in her father's war room) that much is certain.

"My dear older brother, Zuzu - that is, Zuko." she replies sweetly after a moment, smiling.

((The more the merrier!))

Briefly, Axel considers concealing his knowledge of the boy. Only briefly.

"You mean the idiot with the scar?" He traces a finger down one side of his face.

"Yes." Azula answers.

What, you were expecting her to correct him?
