Natalie wanders down to the bar, settles in at a table, and orders dinner. She decides upon spaghetti and meatballs, with a small side salad, and a good red wine paired with the meal.

She would not be adverse to some company while she eats, though.

There's a young woman nearby, not much older than Julie. In fact, she looks the same age as Julie.

She was only passing by, starting to ponder about her own supper and possibly bringing some home when she catches a whiff of Natalie's simple-yet-delicious meal. And she's a big advocate of simple-yet-delicious.

She stops, takes a step back.

Well, Uncle Rabastan always did seem to favor Italian, but she's never seen that exact dish.

"Excuse me, but that looks good. What's in that?"

Mia nods to the second question.

"Both of us make the Magic Guild of Vane our home now. There was a war in Draco's England. After that, there was nothing for him. And his parents don't approve of me, as I don't have any proof that I'm what they call a 'pureblood' witch."

She shakes her head. "That's silly, and discriminatory. But I can relate. My parents were less than pleased when I married a 'common' fighter pilot, instead of a rich man."

"It's almost funny that it's the other way around at home. Vane is a city-state ruled by a monarchy, namely my family. Mother, however, didn't seem to have any objections to Draco. Though I wonder if that's because she never did marry. It wasn't something that was considered necessary for an Ausa to do."

"I don't quite follow. If she wasn't required to marry, were you born out of wedlock, or what?"

She nods.

"Since there was no wedlock to speak of, I was indeed born out of it. One of the results of that being not knowing who my father was. I got curious as I got older, but when I thought to ask Mother about him, she was taken as a prisoner during the war. Her memory hasn't been the same since."

"I'm very sorry to hear that." She bites her lower lip. "That has to be hard."

"It's gotten better since then. She's back to herself otherwise. And my world is becoming more peaceful."
