Cindy's outside, today.
She doesn't want to be here, really, but since she is, she might as well make the most of it.
Bar gave her a room key, and some changes of clothing. Winter outfits hardly make sense. So she has a black T-shirt and blue jeans. The shirt reads, "Don't piss me off, I'm running out of places to hide the bodies."It does suit, ( Read more... )

Max isn't really one for exercise for its own sake most of the time, but despite being a friend, any meeting with Lissar makes him frustrated. He's just not really equipped to deal with hot women who emit a subtle undercurrent of fear while he's around.

So running to burn frustration just seems the thing to do. He's stripped down to just a pair of light sweatpants and he's pushing himself pretty hard when he spots Cindy.

Now that's a sight that'll bring a grin to your face. At least it will if your Max. Though he hasn't seen her shirt yet.

Max laughs, he really likes her style. "I'm interested in whatever you'll let me get away with," he admits.

"I like someone who's not afraid to be upfront about that," she replies, warmth and approval in her gaze. She brushes the back of her free hand
gently against his cheek.
"I haven't seen much of this place yet...Walk with me?" It's an invitation,
and for once she's not going to push a stranger away.

For the first time since he approached her, Max's slight leer softens into something a bit less 'friendly' and a bit more actually friendly. "I like a woman who knows what she wants," he tells her, offering his arm.

"I've never had trouble with that, handsome," eyes twinkling, as she links her arm through his, tugging gently to close the little distance between them.

((and darn it--I'm sorry, but I have to log off for
awhile soon like it or not. Can continue later(tomorrow, about same time, or fade-to-black, whichever you'd find better? *am muchly enjoying the two's thread))

Max leans into her, letting his shoulder brush against hers as he laughs.

"So, what do you do back home, Cindy? I'm sure it's more interesting than my job."

[No problem! Life happens sometimes. I'm loving this myself, so if you're up to just working on it tomorrow, that's my vote. Otherwise we could fade and start a new one sometime? I'm easy like that.]

"If you find shoes or traveling on trade-and-diplomacy missions interesting,
perhaps."

((tomorrow it is, then *grins*))

"Well," Max smirks, "I suppose that we may be even. The traveling is a plus, but the diplomacy thing... not really my strong suit."

She grins. "If it was, I'd worry about you. One of my old teachers used to say that diplomacy is the only job where you get paid to be
crazy."
"'M I right in thinking that you don't sit on the sidelines, at home?" she hadn't missed his mention of war, earlier.

"Nah," Max shrugs lightly, "Joined the legions to get away from home. And apparently they expect me to actually work for what they pay me." He doesn't sound all that upset about it, even if he would rather just sit around and be lazy most of the time.

Her eyes widen in exaggerated shock.
"What, the pleasure of your company isn't reward enough for them? Philistines!"

"I know," Max sighs theatrically. "But when I tried that one on my commander he just rolled his eyes and told me that he wouldn't pay that much for my company."

[So sorry! I got caught up traveling, but I should be around most of this week if you want to keep working on this, otherwise we can fade out at some point.]

"Their loss," she says, not joking this time. "But our gain...?"
Cindy's not short, but even so, Max is a bit taller. She has to not-quite
stand on tiptoe when she moves to place a light kiss to his jaw.

((still around. Hoping you won't mind that we fade this--not
immediately but maybe in the next few comments? Let Max have the last word as 'twere*g*))

After a moment Max shifts, a grin making it difficult (but not impossible) to kiss her back. "I can't argue with logic like that," he smirks.

[Arg! Vacation is surprisingly time demanding. Still... how's this look for a fade point? We can always have another thread another time (and I'd love to!) because this was fun.]
