There is currently a GLaDOS at the bar, with an expression on her face that one might use in going, "Oh, holy mother in heaven."

Possibly, this is because she is no longer really GLaDOS.

Allow us to explain.

The 'possible reconfiguration' that she selected for Cubefall was human, and boy, is it weird. Her eyes are very, very wide, and she's standing ( Read more... )

Not far off is a somewhat handsome, very well-toned man in a tank top and slacks. He looks like he's new to the place, though he's not. And he sees a rather attractive face, and heads over. "Hello."

"Hello."

'Hello, subject name here' didn't seem like an appropriate greeting.

(Her human senses seem to be kicking in as a vague, 'He isn't bad looking,' floats through her head.)

Then, almost as an afterthought:

"Happy Cubefall."

"You, too. Have you, er, been altered?" What a terribly odd question. Then again, what a terribly odd day.

Gordon was outside when it happened. This isn't uncommon. He's learned to manage very well on very little sleep lately, but staying in his room until the sun comes up doesn't sit well with him, so he spends the dark hours and the early light ones outdoors. This is his first exposure to a Bar holiday. Hence the look on his face.

He'll get around to noticing GLaDOS in a moment or two.

His expression gains a laugh -- a human, warm laugh, not the almost-tinny, insincere laugh GLaDOS normally has.

"Happy Cubefall!" she says brightly, waving from where she's standing (she hasn't tried taking steps yet).

She seems to be absolutely brimming with vitality.

That gets his attention. And his "..." face, before he recovers enough to say:

"... GLaDOS? What..."

He waves one hand vaguely, a little at a loss for words.

"It is a Cybertronian holiday, I believe," she replies, traipsing over with her head tilted just slightly to one side.

"A vidscreen will come up when you reach the bar, wishing you a happy holiday and offering to change your form for the duration of the holiday."

She smiles crookedly.

"I chose to be human."
