Sallie hid. She's not proud of it, but she hid. After this? You'd hide too.

She's done hiding though, but she hasn't convinced herself she's able to go home.

So here Sallie is.

Not hiding.

If Sallie's not hiding, than neither is Desire.
Not, of course, that Desire has any reason to hide.

And that would be why Desire is lurking about the bar, idly smoking through a pack of cigarettes.

There's an attempt at flipping through some of Tom's books Sallie's still lugging around. She pushes the last one away from her at her space on the table in disgust.

A cigarette's lit in Sallie's periphery. She looks --

-- and is possibly disappointed.

Though for a moment there, there might well be a resemblance to her boys a couple of gents that she knows or knew -- Certainly, the easy handling of the cigarette and the hat pushed back as Jack wore his now and again, but mostly because maybe, just maybe, Sallie wanted to see Ennis again.

Too-golden eyes land on Sallie Reynolds, and there's a momentary flicker of -- what, recognition? Fear? -- before the younger patron's attention returned to spindling the cellophane of a cigarette pack.

"Smoking's not particularly healthful," Sallie hazards, not totally sure why she bothers.
