If Ray's done anything in the past twenty-four hours other than read and sleep, you couldn't tell by looking at him.

Possibly something should be done about that, but you'd have to get through the stack of books around him first.

What if someone knocks them over? No one ever accused Hagrid of being graceful. He trips over a stack on his way to the bar, and immediately turns to apologize.

"Sorry 'bout that."

He kneels to try to stack them back up.

Ray yanks the book that he's got in his hands out of the way before it can be knocked over, but that's about all; he blinks at the larger fellow, then nods. "It's all right. Let me get some of those, please- you shouldn't have to neaten them all."

"Doin' a bit o' light readin'?"

Reminds her of Hermione studying for her O.W.L.s

"One might say that," says Ray. "There's been some trouble with nightmares and memory losses around here lately, and I had hoped to uncover something I used to know that would be useful on the subject. Since I can't recall what it was, I thought I should start at the beginning and read through all of my books again until I found what I was looking for."

"Ray!"

Byers is (still) beaming.

"I don't think I can ever thank you enough."

Ray's head comes up sharply at that, eyes wide. "Oh?" he says. "How... it went well?"

Byers simply nods.

He thinks the giant grin on his face says it all.

"Congratulations," Ray says. "I'm glad to know it worked. How... what did you do?"

Somebody else been reading. Neurology textbooks. Which didn't really tell him anything.

Several books were restacked up straight up. Very neat and evenly.

"Ok, name this tune in 60 seconds, Ray."

"What?" Ray puts his book down and glances in Peter's direction. "What are you talking about?"

Peter was giving him a pointed look, "Humor me."

"Name this event." Indicating the very neat and straightened stack of books that was higher than both their heads.

Ray eyes the stack of books for a while. Eventually he says, "The 1964 Good Friday earthquake of Anchorage, Alaska. Nine point two on the Richter scale. The ground rose and fell more than four centimeters as far away as the eastern seaboard of the United States. I don't know."
