Jadis never leaves Milliways (where would she go?), but that doesn't mean that she's always entirely there. Time can play strange tricks, and no-one really knows how big the library is. Suffice it to say, that when Jadis wanders into the Bar this evening, book in one hand, she hasn't been gone - you just haven't seen her around ( Read more... )

Jadis, have a tall, handsome Prince of Chaos flailing (ever so subtly) from across the room. Merlin's eyes are zeroed straight at her face, because he knows that face.

He's winding his way toward the Queen, and will bow formally once he reaches her booth.

"Mother."

Jadis. . . is actually taken aback. This does not happen often.

"No," she says. "I am afraid you have me confused for someone else. I have no children."

It's Merlin's turn to be taken aback. Surely Dara is in a teasing mood. Because it looks, and sounds, like the woman who gave birth to him.

"Are you quite sure, madam? You are the very image of my maternal parent."

"Quite," she says dryly. "I think I should have noticed! But lest you remain unconvinced - I am Jadis, once Empress of Charn, once Queen of Narnia, and now ruler of nothing but myself."

She tilts her head slightly to him. "And you?"

A tall crouching god of death noticed the woman. Well, she is not human. It wasn't all that strange for Milliways.

Rem stared intently at the woman.

Jadis, for her part, notices the crouching being. It would be rather hard not to, after all.

She returns the stare, trying to ascertain whether the creature is friendly of hostile.

Rem's expression is neutral. Weather she is hostile or not remains to be seen.

Rem inclined her head ever so slightly, a friendly hello but nothing more. Rem does however continue to stare.

She's not very talkative today, so Jadis might want to be the first to speak.

Well, an acknowledgement is often an indication that someone doesn't want to kill you - unless, of course, they're a particularly polite assassin.

Jadis nods back.

"Good day," she says.

Shego stretches and yawns, already tired of this place. But it beats going to her world and having to listen to Drakken rant about Kim Possible, and they have great vodka, so it will do for now.

Her eyes scan the crowd for someone she knows. As usual, she finds no one. No one here surprises her anymore, though she admits sometimes she looks for that big cat when she comes in the entrance.

As someone accidentally bumps into her she turns with a snarl, green glow ignited.

"Watch it, ace!"

That green glow, now, that catches Jadis' attention. magic, like her own blue flames? No, it doesn't feel quite like that.

She rests her chin on her hand, and observes the altercation. Interesting.

As they go back and forth the flame grows, heat coming off of it in waves. But Shego knows she can't do anything, and so does this man, so it is ended with a flip of the finger and a scowl.

She goes back to her drink, mumbling to herself.

"Impressive," the witch says, her voice low but carrying across the room. it's the sort of trick one learns in throne rooms.

Another white lady, elegant as ever, drifts down the stairs like falling snow and experiences, not a surge of warm feelings, that would be impossible, but a certain satisfaction in seeing her sister queen again. She glides, light as ice, over to the booth and inclines her head in greeting.

"Jadis Queen"

It is still chilly in Jadis' booth, from the jest to amuse the odd green woman, which the Snow Queen may appreciate.

"My dear," Jadis says, and she is glad to see the other woman. "You have been away from here for far too long, for my tastes."

The Snow Queen curves her pale lips and takes that as an invitation to sit in a snowbank of white skirts.

"Hardly absent, the weather here bears my touch I think.

"True," she acknowledges. "But snowflakes and frost have never been good conversationalists, i find."
